Hi Nathan,

Just joined up, I own a Concept FVG88 (in bits) and a bent Concept GS83 (chassis and body) but probably more often seen driving a GS82 in hill climbs.

Confused, well I was until the current enforced break from competing occured in 2001.

Regards,

Ian

Had a shocking run last season, still breaking my heart to think about it! Had so many mechanical breakdowns, engine failures, gearbox failures, people were womdering how and why I kept coming to the track!!!

Changing sponsors this year, i'll post up some pics when the car's painted and finalised!

humpty - April 11th, 2006 at 12:20 AM

I have 2 local WA chassis' sitting in the shed with most of the bits to finish one... Been thinkin I might put into some Sprints and Hillclimbs at some point...

pringa8 - April 13th, 2006 at 11:11 AM

Should do it! Build up a 1600 monster!

I have my old 1776 street donk doing nuthin.... That made an est. 100hp at the wheels (14.8ET in full street trim), ran nice and cool and was a very reliable engine... How about that?

pringa8 - April 21st, 2006 at 03:19 PM

Excellent!!! Enter it into the Libre class and flog em!!! That's heaps more power than the Fvee class!!!

humpty - April 21st, 2006 at 05:26 PM

Maybe that will be the next project.... Right after finishing the turbo/intercooled/efi 2276 for my Ragtop, not to mention the Ragtop itself, then the narrowed beam and brake upgrade on the Notch and then of course there is the SVX conversion on the Bus...... This might take a while..... I wish I could just get another me to finish my studies for me, n keep the wife happy, n make the bux to pay the bills.... Typical VW owner huh!....LOL!!....One day....

chequer57 - January 1st, 2010 at 02:00 PM

bump; any other Formula Vee drivers hiding out there ?

VWMA Editor - January 1st, 2010 at 06:33 PM

Yes, started racing last season (2009). 1986 1200 Manta upgraded to 1600cc. Havin' a ball! (I'm #22 - Lotus Special Look alike).

cb john - January 1st, 2010 at 10:22 PM

I'm not driving Vee, but I'm heavily involved...

I raced an Elfin Vee about 40 years back. If I had one now, I'd have it out on the track NOW, not in the shed!

Vee racing is really great, and - given half a chance - I'd back in a Vee (1200) like a shot.

Cheers, Greg

That rollbar has had more upgrades than I have fingers. And I'm not going to upgrade it and more! I will just sit lower in the seat :)

Cheers

tassupervee - January 5th, 2010 at 06:22 PM

Hahahaha your right Ian. I can srug down enough to just get by inspection tho!....Only just!
Im actually sitting directly on the floorpan in that car but can slide my bum any further forward as my knees are already pretty much on the steering bulkhead!!!
never fear, its being re-birthed as a 1600 so it will have a new and higher rollhoop anyway.

I do like that particular pix tho!
