rufbug - February 4th, 2007 at 07:16 PM

I have a new engine to put together.
heads are 42 x 37 up to 190 hp.
82mm x 94mm. 5.6 Scat I beams, Straight cuts and
44 hpmx's.
Case is new alloy one and will be running elec ignition in 009 dizzy.
i would like to use ratio's to get lift with a cam.
i want to take it to the track and strip and drive it daily,
so what do you's reckon.
I dont mind rock'n.

i would use the whole lot:smilegrin:

are you asking about cam choice.........or just itching to tell us about your inventory?

berg 310 would be nice, 309 if you want to keep it in the lower revs

let us know how the HPMX jobbies are - I am looking for info to help me decide whether to use those or big-bore Kaddies

Are the heads well ported ? I would guess if they have that capability the 44s might limit the overall combo. (what venturi's are they running ?)

I have used a CB2288 (same lift and duration as a K8) with a 2276 for the last couple of years. Idles at 800, and pulls solidly from idle to 7000 rpm. 30 degrees total advance, 9.5:1 compression. Runs consistent 13.9s @ 95mph on radials in three gears.

I was running 48 DRLAs (42 vents) with this combo and a 1 5/8' exhaust. The ports in my heads were somewhere between a CNC round and Oval port, makes for a very torquey driveable engine.

i have chosen the FK 45,
295 duration and 560 thou lift with 1.4 rockers
Heads are stage 2, i think rod penrose told me they
were wedge ports. going to run 9.0 compression

have to look into what size the venturies are
