Well boys and girls, some petrol action is around the corner with Round 3 and 4 of the NSW Hillclimb Championship being run on the weekend of 28th &
29th April.
Round 3 - Sat 28/04/07 is being held at Fairburn Park (Canberra - start 9:00am), while
Round 4 - Sun 29/04/07 is being held at Wakefield Park (Goulburn - start 9:00am).
This should be a good weekend of motorsport with two seperate events (tracks) being run at two very different locations.
There are a few of us VW's heading down to compete, so if any body wants to came and have a bit of a look/ see, then get a few of your mates together
and make a weekend of it.
If anyone is keen on having a run against some other VW's, Datsuns, Honda's, Suzuki's or Escorts then get your entries in.
Hope to see you all at the race track....
another event where the Pobjoy powered Vw's will dominate
we might even see a 'baby' Pobjoy running there, just for some fun :P

how much would it cost to enter the wakefield hillclimb?
$100
and a level 1 cams licence??
And the car requires a CAMS log book to compete in state and above events.
Unless your a member of the organising club.

lol... my ambiguity, sorry. I meant my car
Round 3 and 4
Saturday was round 3 at Fairburn Park, Canberra, it was wet and cold - did I say wet, it bucketted down for ages. special thanks goes to the
origanisers and officials who did a great job in really crappy conditions. There was only one beetle at hte event unfortunately, that belong to the
Abbotts, Nathan and John who fought out 3J < 2L. Nathan had a reasonalble day taking out the class, at one stage he was running 4th outright in the
rain. Having said that John was a full second faster early in the day so it wasn't all easy [admittedly that was in the dry but bragging rights werepretty good].
Whilst there wasn't many beetles there was a few formula V's and the event was taken out by Peter Gumly, nowhere near his record at the track but
very fast.
The first lot of photos are from Canberra the next lot from Goulburn. There wasn't much variety to take photos of ............
Sunday Round 4 - Wakefield Park
Another cold and windy day. The day was fought out for 3J < 2L by Nathan and John in the lone beetle, Nathan again going faster. The day wasn't all
plain sailing with a little hiccup in the beetle seeing Nathan take a supercheap stop for a rota button and a distributor cap. That and trying a
little to hard in the left hander after the hairpin tagging the tyres. OOOPs.
See the write up, times, action and all the photos in the next issue of VWMA.
Mick.
