Hi All,
I have a dilemma. My bare metal cookie cutters look crap. I don't want to fork out to have them polished becasue I've aleady got some nice polished
fuchs.
I race on these but they make the car look terrible.
I'm thinking of either painting black centres like porsche 944s but that may make the car look too dark an sinister. Or I could paint them bright
silver which is a good contrast to the body colour. Or I could go half way and paint the centres gunmetal grey.
I'll paint the centre caps too. I'm also thinking of painting right to the edge that's parallel to the tyre which will make the wheel look a bit
bigger than where the paint normally stops.
These are the stickers that will go on the car for the Dutton Rally.
Thoughts?
Hmmm, sinister :thumb Love the full gloss black wheel look......no matter which way you go it'll turn heads CT.
Think out of the square.........................why not a colour that is used in your stickers, like the green or the blue or the red.
Hi CT
I like the VW factory wheel sliver, Power plus wheel silver is very close, also Nissan Diamond luster (silver) looks great.
Steve
I was faced with same dilema. Polished Fuchs and original Fuchs had been done to death, and I wanted something different. I went with solid colour for
the whole wheel, it seemd easier to maintain.

I like full gloss black....but then, i'm a little biased...
im with craig...go outside the square and add soem major color to those wheels...green or red is what i'd suggest
yeah im thinking of doing my sprinsters full gloss black too
or i agree with what craig said

Black centres on cookie cutters looks great in my opinion.
Here is a few options
Do a blue option the same as the thrifty sign !
or try black/silver center red edge....

I like the coloured cookie cutter idea and was pondering it over the weekend. I especially liked the Thrifty blue idea. It reminded me of a white 1500
beetle with blue globes that ES Motors used to race.
In the end I decided against it because it makes the car look too much like a race car. In my mind its supposed to be a street car that can be raced
occasionally.
I like the black centre look. I ran the car around for a little while with black centred 16 inch fuchs and it was really German-look which was cool. I
don't think cookie cutters look as good becasue you can't see the details in the wheels.
I found a colour that is very similar to the body colour and I think the wheels turned out pretty good. I'll take a decent pic when I've fitted them
to the car.
Thanks all for your thoughts.
good decision.
paint is extra weight and saps HP. :P
...ok, maybe I'm starting to get a bit anal.
