Howdy everyone from sunny downtown Tamworth.I have been very busy trying to get my beetle ready for racing .Unfortunatly I wont be competing at the tamworth round of the hillclimb series.Need to get the front wheels pointing in the same direction , hopefully will take it for a wheel alignment next week, then its off to find a nice quiet back street to do some testing.Took the car to our local dyno tune dude Blue last week. Thanks for your help Blue.Spent 3.5 hours and came up with 124.9hp at the wheels. Very happy with the result, also picked up more hp in the mid range so this should help at the events such as Grafton Ringwood and Tamworth.Like all projects such as this i could not have finished the car with out the help of a few great mates.CT what a champion bloke thanks for the wheels there cherry.Mike Waldron at Vintage, thankyou for your Muffler and your help.Keith (Larry) Haeusler well what can i say,how many times have you built and improved this engine of mine.My sincere thanks to you.Well thats about it,i will be spectating at Tamworth this weekend so i will catch up to all you guys competing. Cheers Col
This is the old car. It was a beauty.
I was shattered when it was destroyed.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new one with its shiny new paint and listening to those IDAs!
It's too good to hillclimb!

Col,
No prob`s.
A 6 pack of Bundaberg`s finest ought to cover it.
Have fun, Keith.
Congrats on getting the car back together again Colin. I cant wait to see you and your beetle back out again on the track. Its a bit of a shame its
not quite ready for this week end at Tamworth as I was looking forward to seeing it run. Another bug running around in the hillclimb championship will
be great. Maybe you might be able to make it to Ringwood or King Edwatrd Park for the last rounds of the year. There will proberly be something like 7
beetles entered and something like 10 drivers entered for King Edy if your thinking of doing them. 125hp (almost) also is a great hp figure.
BTW I dont thinks its too good to hillclimb.... Whats the point in having all the gear and have it sit in a shed and look at. Cars were ment to be
used and abused. See you at Tamworth Colin.
Gooday Col yep bring on the Bundy yeah har
long time no see Col; you will have to bring it to Kempsey and give it a blast and really stretch its legs. If Blue had anything to do with the tune ,I bet its strong and crisp. looking forward to seeing it in action.
Thanks guys and Keith i think i can manage a bundy or 10.
Not sure if i will be entering any state hillclimbs this year, but i will definately be racing at Warwick in September.Just to run the engine in and
bed the brakes.
Hey CT do you think they would put in a few turns or a chicane for us at Warwick?
Cheers Col
There's a nice little hairpin leading to the return road! You just need to watch out for the broken down drag cars.
JVL and I got told off for belting around a similar corner at WSID when the VW nationals drags were held there so I'd have to recommend against
it.
Morgan Park is right next door to Warwick. We could rip the bodies off our cars and race in the Formula Vee Nationals that are being held at the same
time. But then again maybe not.

Hey Col - good to see you up here and posting. Let me know if you need any help loading pics etc (or any of the other guys here could help I am
sure).
Thanks again for sorting out the 3.88r&p - Rudi sent it off promptly and Dave (dangerous) has it now - just waiting for the courier to deliver the
albins gears. I have your 4.12 which I'll bring to warwick, but let me know if you need it earlier and I can send it down to you.
Cheers again
Alan
nice work in getting back Col, great to see another VW in the hillclimb field
