Well i made you tube for all the wrong reasons....
we both were okish. I have bruises and burns plsu very sore muscles. the driver has damaged a disk in his back.
Youtube Clip
I was naving for a noob driver in the suncoast classic rally. Running pretty well (12th in modern and 17th outright). 4th day, with 5 more stages to
the end of the rally, I call "Care 7 left, Seven left with care, care on this one...." I think we were way to hot (and yes we were hotter than the
phase three in the clip, but we are 10secs a km faster than he is over these stages). Hit the gravel and the sequence of events was
1- eyes like dinner plates
2- straight through street sign like it was playdough
3- up bank and through bushes
4- air borne
5- spectators in the wrong spot, learning why they are in the worng spot and running very fast
6- landing and seeing the concrete post
7- saying "this is going to hurt"
8-Hitting the conrete post at 130km/hr and having really bad back pain
Lessons
a) neck braces and spending 9hrs in hospital sucks
b) a !7L is a CARE seven left
c) iam buying a hans device with my tax cheque
jeez..... looks like one hell of an impact!!
glad to hear you got out of it with fairly minor injuries.
just in case we ever wondered if motorsport really is dangerous, here's yet more proof that it is!

"Hey Norm, lets stand on the outside of the corner. They'll never hit us there."
Yep, way toooo hot on that one. Glad you're ok.
Glad to hear you have kept up the good record Drew!! hans is for ham....arn't you supposed to NOT crash after all????so much for nicky grist saying that the co-driver controls the pace of the car.....what a dill!!...the nutter behind the wheel controls the size of the accident and the hole in his wallet. Best wishes and get well.dakdakdave...(rallydave.) ps call me about Great Lakes rally in september at Foster/Tuncurry.
Ahh, it was only a taxi...
Hi Dave, will do.
iam trying to get my foot in the door with dirt stuff, so if you know of anybody that wants a nav for a dirt event let me know. Did the last KCF with
jamie in the rx7, but found his note system a little hard to follow (1 to 3's).
The beetle is almost all sorted and was looking at doing teh ndcc event at gympie.... jsut need to sort the battery for it.
Cheers
Drew
ps it goes very very hard !!
