bat69 - April 2nd, 2009 at 07:16 AM

Ha Ha.... not really.

Im still in the planning phase at the moment but there are some big changes. The shell is at the stage to be caged out. Engine will still be my original pobjoy steriods. No point changing something that works. Its just every thing else that is getting the work over.

Fingers crossed Im still on target to have ready by the end of the year. Specs, research and test and development you will read about in the coming months.

Nathan, i thought your engine would be the first thing to change? Given the preformance of the Durie car and engine at Ringwood recently, i thought it would be a fait acompli that you see the lighter side.

Anyway, look forward to the contest at Kempsey.

Your funny but why would I want to do that. I still have 18000klm left my on warranty. What does "fait acompli" mean anyway. Im sorry but I dont speak Russian....

Sorry about the dates. Silly me..I was going off 2008 dates.. We all cant be perfect. Updated now.

forry2000 - April 8th, 2009 at 02:07 PM

Nathan

you obviously don't speak the French language either.

fait accompli = French for an accomplished fact

"Your funny but why would I want to do that. I still have 18000klm left my on warranty"

I'll be upfront and honest and say that you've probably got another 18000km of of misery remaining. Stan loves to torture you blokes eh?

If you call misery not having to pull my engine out to rebuild it or fix because it $hit itself over the next 18000klm then thats a misery I am very happy to live with. Having to fork out money to buy replacements bits after your engine $hit itself is what I call torture

Happy hooning

Captain Cockatoo - April 10th, 2009 at 10:11 PM

How many vee-dubs are racing at Kempsy ?

fullnoise3 - April 15th, 2009 at 10:34 AM

Hi Nathan,

The 18,000 warranty is great. The average hillclimb is about 1km. Say you get 2 practice runs and 4 competitive runs that's 6km per event. With 8 rounds that's 48 competitive kms.

If you change your oil at 5,000km then you shouldn't have to do it until the year 2114.

Your warranty should run out in the year 2384.

Sorry to be a smart arse, but I've got a new calculator and pocket protector which I wanted to try out.

Good luck with the racing this year.

I saw a picture of Greg Ward's car at Bathurst. It finally looks like the suspension is working. I bet you helped him withit. Am I right?

CT has anyone ever told you you are a nerd? Yes both glen and myself have been giving Greg a hand. There is still a little way to go before its right but it is certainly on the way. Just having the time is the only factor at the moment with Greg spending most of the year OS with work, Glen working flat out and me with my ever expanding family the car business seems takes a back step. I can't believe Greg drove that thing the way it was. I couldnt handle sitting in that thing going around the block let alone the carrot top driving it to S.A, Qld and race it. Im amazed he could even set anysort of a time in the thing. To put it in simple terms... It was $HIT. CT, whats the go with the new ID?

Captain. I dont know how many beetles are going. There will at least be Wardy if his gets his flight from the Asain country he is working in this week.

fullnoise3 - April 15th, 2009 at 04:56 PM

:dork:

A good reason for one of those dumb smiles.

With suspension like Greg had, or lack of, he didn't deserve tyres.

They work together as you know.

I couldn't login with my old ID but I'm not nerdy enough to figure out why. I created a new one on about the 16th attempt.

I hope the work you're doing to your car is coming along well.

I pulled my donk apart to fix the pushrod tube and decided to try a different cam. At least it will make it a mission impossible to get it all back together in time for the VW Nationals at Easter. I'm a goose.

Both K8 and K10 have less duration at .050" than your W130,
so if you want faster...FK87,
if you want nicer....V26(old grind not listed any more but still available).

Get genuine engle if you can.
ELC cams have smaller lobes, and so are ground a long way through the induction hardened lobe.

Get some better pushrods too dude.
Cromo set at zero or the best alum you can buy.

i'll vouch for that one........1500rpm to 7000 rpm.....great tourque, good HP.......day after day, everyday and even on the weekends....

V26......
"Especially nice for those of you who already have ratio rocker arms. Gives more lift without adverse strain to the rest of the valve train, good all around performance on small and mid size engines with small valve heads and 2-barrel or more carburetion. GB 273A springs required. The more head work the more all around performance you will get. 1000-6000 RPM. 297 duration, 0.335" lift at cam."

i've got pushrods for ya if you want to keep things moving
