1303Steve - May 28th, 2009 at 01:22 PM

Hi

Just thought I would gather the mood for next year.

Steve

Mick058 - May 28th, 2009 at 02:04 PM

VWMA Editor - May 28th, 2009 at 02:17 PM

Yes. The more VW motorsport the better. After last weekend I'm still waiting on my call from Red Bull F1 to partner Mark Weber next year

Yes! Suxed to not be there with a car!

Cam - May 28th, 2009 at 02:50 PM

no, I think motorsport is dangerous and promotes grossly irresponsible social behaviour :borg:

Sides - May 28th, 2009 at 03:23 PM

I can't believe this is even a question - OF COURSE there should be another SuperSprint at the Nats next year !!!

:)

Two big :tu: from me - can't believe I almost didn't go this year - would have had massive regrets I reckon.

beetleboyjeff - May 28th, 2009 at 04:16 PM

Of course it should be run again next year. Even freezing as a spectator, it was one of the best days I have had in a long time.

And you never know, if my wife dies before then, I could run my bug. lol.

silver - May 28th, 2009 at 05:04 PM

I will be there if Boris' grid girls go too!

HotRodMatt - May 28th, 2009 at 05:20 PM

Haven't you heard? Burning oil and petrol is bad...

Now get out there and do your best to burn up all of that evil stuff!

trickysimon - May 28th, 2009 at 06:34 PM

Hopefully the 1915 will be done before then! Don't hold your breath

VWFREAK - May 28th, 2009 at 06:58 PM

Bring back the Nationals Drags :D

PAZZAN - May 28th, 2009 at 07:08 PM

rose - May 28th, 2009 at 07:38 PM

cnfabo - May 28th, 2009 at 09:36 PM

yep, ill come from west oz to watch "again"... i miss the vw music already....

Brian - May 28th, 2009 at 10:05 PM

Given enough notice a full field of vw,s could be lined up to race,
that would be spectacular:tu:

 yeah agreed there Paul............but if i have my way, you won't have a car to run :punk: ........still waiting for the test drive before the deposit goes down!

i'll be taking at least 2 cars NEXT YEAR when it is ON AGAIN....i'm more motivated than ever before and will commence building a new BJ/IRS pan for myself this weekend....

........i would gladly pay the $$ or more again, you don't even want to know how much per lap it was this time around

for sure i would make the time to stop at the show and shine next year, but to be honest, without the racing, there is no chance of me being there (not that anyone could give a hoot anyways)

1303Steve - May 28th, 2009 at 11:05 PM

Hi

Damian I thought you had gone all strut crazy after having a run in Rods car, I guess Jeff the onion threatened to chuck you in the creek if you talked about strut cars.

As for running more events, our biggest issue is getting more of our club members up to speed as CAMS qualified officials, we had to borrow some from Chris's other club Wollongong Sorting Car Club and the flaggies from our club didn't have a break all day except for a short one at lunch.

I think Wakefield would be really nice at a warmer time of year.

Steve

hellbugged - May 28th, 2009 at 11:18 PM

volkswagens love the cold don't forget.......one of the reasons the VW spectacular is also run in the colder months

.......confession time.....struts are cool, it's just that they come attached to bulbus overweight beetles :D

Jak Rizzo - May 29th, 2009 at 03:27 AM

We should definantly have 2 a year Steve, the drag guys have 2 events a year. What about joining up the second one with the Mini Car Club, or even advertising the event with the Porsche Club of NSW?
regards
Jak

A few people are already talking and looking at the viability of a 2 day, 3 discipline + more event at Wakefield/Goulburn Showground.

Jak Rizzo - May 29th, 2009 at 03:10 PM

that would be veedub heaven!

VWCOOL - May 29th, 2009 at 10:21 PM

yeah!! Like Summernats Grand Champion... but betterer!

Jak Rizzo - May 30th, 2009 at 07:49 AM

We could do it a bit like the Dutton Rally. We had a Slalom down 3/4 of the front straight, then turn off towards the fish hook, then go over & do the hill climb, then the next day do the supersprint.
It's very doable
Jak

Well, I'll be working on the new project for a few hours once a week, I'm aiming for 2013
Got the body on an IRS/Bajjoint 'pan today (with squareback bits in the back) chucked in a superbug 'box & an adjustable beam that I had laying around the house... oh, and some 15x7 steelies with 195s that were gathering dust... think I need more offset though?

Craig Torrens - May 31st, 2009 at 08:45 PM

yep there should be one in 2010.

STIDUB - May 31st, 2009 at 09:05 PM

can we have one at qld raceway or something a lil closer than spit distance to canberra? qld aint a bad track to hoon around sideways on, similar views for spectators too, speaking of which, that track is great from a watching point, damn right there should be one next year :tu:

Cam - May 31st, 2009 at 09:11 PM

Sandown grandstand is great for spectators, as is the top of the pit lane buildings at phillip island :D

hellbugged - May 31st, 2009 at 09:53 PM

the roundy round track at Warwick looks like fun

Brian - May 31st, 2009 at 10:28 PM

What about the tamworth Track ?
it would be cheap enough and well suited for a supersprint
and North of Sydney
