Santa forgot to bring me a Limited Slip Diff! Looks like it's up to me to now to fix the ' inside wheelspin' problem. The 'box is 40hp,
swing-axle.
Anyone have any ideas? I thought a Torsen type may be OK, as the last thing that I need is heaps of under-steer. All help would be welcome.
Cheers, Greg

Hi Greg
So were you naughty or nice? Must have been naughty
You can try http://www.quaife.co.uk/VW-Beetle-swing-axle-ATB-differential, you may get it cheaper from a US supplier, Ive found this
to be the case with other UK made goods.
Also try a user on Shoptalk forums named Bruce http://www.shoptalkforums.com/index.php he's in Canada but seems to be able to locate them.

Heh heh - I don't think it has anything to do with being Naughty or Nice... have you seen how heavy a Quaife diff is ???
I reckon those poor 8 (or is it 9 ?) reindeer wouldn't have enough grunt to get a Quaife laden sled off the ground !!!
Since that thread I now have a ZF in, and it controls the inside wheel MUCH better than the Quaife... basically zero increase in revs on that same
corner, and Jezebel just drives out like normal.
If you do go with a Quaife, give palmside.co.nz a shot... Quaife UK put me onto them, and they're the Quaife distributor in NZ (there isn't one for
Aus apparently). When I got mine a couple of years back they were by the far the cheapest way to bring one in, and pretty good customer service as
well.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like I should start looking for a ZF - don't want to over-work the reindeer! Better start a new thread.
Cheers, Greg
I looked for a ZF and could not find a good one, so went the Quaife option. When you do upgrade remember to tie the gearbox in well, under lowed it
will flex a lot. I cracked my box under the diff and split both side plates.
