Great day and even better racing at Ringwood on the weekend with the 4 bug drivers (Colin, Cookie, Durie and Heath) and the sole datto driver within a beez dick of each other all day in the Imp Pro class. Heath took the Imp Pro class win from Col, Ben, the Datto and then Cookie. Less then a second between times for everyone thats how close it was. Peter gumleys super charged VW powered open wheeler (withnew tunnel ram - very cool) won the event. Congrats everyone for some very entertaining and competative racing. It just made me even more motivated to finish mine off and get out there.

What a great weekend was had by all at Ringwood hillclimb last weekend.
The weather was looking a little dodgy but we ended up having a fine and dry day.
The racing was very close with less than tenths seperating the cars all day, but in the end Heath Campbell came out on top with a ripper time to secure the win.
Ben Durie took out 3rd in class but surely won the Drifter prize with some fantastic 2nd gear power drifting displays.
Final results are:

1st in class Heath Campbell ftd 32.99 secs 17th Outright
2nd in class Col Mayman ftd 33.25 secs 18th Outright
3rd in class Ben Durie ftd 33.31 secs 20th Outright
4th in class Steve Brydie ftd 33.85 secs {Datto}
5th in class Grant Cook ftd 34.47 sces 32nd Outright
6th in class Glen Torrens ftd 36.64 secs 52nd Outright

There were a total of 58 entrants, so the humble Beetle smoked quiet a few.

Cheers Col

After watching Heath and Ben's cars at Valla,
that is awesome to be so close to those times Col.
You realy must be makin good power and car set up
in what is probably a heavier car than theirs!
Well done!

Craig Torrens - August 4th, 2010 at 08:42 PM

Great result Colin :tu:......you beat durie's BIG dollar car on his home track, and you're right on the tail (Again!) of Heath's bug.............and like Dave said, all with a much heavier car than the others. You and 'Larry' certainly are producing the power with the 1916 of yours.

craig: you're getting to become known as the mouth from the south....big comments but no action

That sounded like a genuine compliment Craig. Granted the "BIG dollar" comment was a little loaded, but overall it was a compliment. Wow. Are you improving with age?

Well done Col & Larry.
