Hi all,
Formula vee has grown on me somewhat. I have been on their website and talked to some people about it.. One mentioned that at a cost of around 10k
would get me into a car. Plus 4k per seasont o race.
What else should I know about? Can i get into it for cheaper than 10k? I know its ont he cheaper end already..
That's about the budget where I started, and with what I now know, this is pretty much the starting point. Any less than this and you'll probably
end up with a car that needs too much work and keeps you off the track rather than on it.
If you want to race rather than tinker in the pits, then the realistic budget is about $15,000 to have a mid-field car all sorted and ready to go. If
you are serious about competing, you won't regret the fun, and the initial financial pain will be quickly offset.
Where abouts are you located??
Formula Vee is like most things - you get what you pay for (hopefully)!
When you get your Vee, remember that the driver is THE most important part of the car. Get as much track time in as you can afford, before you start racing, and 'hang around' the pits - looking & listening. The
Vee people will help you (if they think you're serious), so don't be afraid to ask for advice. Vee racing is great! Good luck.

Depending on if you want cut throat or not, it probably wont cost anywere near 4k a season, think about it. Mate, go Historics, for 10k you would get
a minter, with plenty of history all log booked and ready to go (prob even with trailer) you get to race at events like the Tasman Revival, Phillip
island classic, Historic Winton, etc. etc. etc. And just quitely, be ready for a big value increase in the near future.
