sander288 - October 12th, 2010 at 09:03 AM
very cool, how do you go against the ricers that I can see on the starting grid?
pratak - October 12th, 2010 at 05:08 PM
I got the 4th place, I'm the only bug that use street tires. Most of them use soft compound. But the next week I'll have another race with new soft
compound.......We'll kick their ass.

In that engine bay pic, looks like the car has an ally roof rack on it ???
A circuit car with a roof rack... that's cool... not to mention Taz Devil on the bonnet !!!

Hi Pratak, are you going to race your bug in Bangsaen Speed Festival next month? We will ship our cars there to race in a classic car race event. We
are from Hong Kong and my car is a 1303 Beetle. Some other cars are Mini's, a Ford Cortina Mk 1 Lotus, Alfa Romeo, and a Ford Anglia, I guess.
I raced my bug challenging some Mini's in China in last few months.

Are they standard sized guards? What sizes wheels are you running?
By the way I like. I need to know more. Please tell

Nice bugs. I would love to hear and see more of these great little race cars. Like, what are the events you are running in? (historic racing against
the minis etc and what distance/laps etc are you running at). I am also interested in what type of cooling systems are you all running. Looks like the
Beetle racing in your part of the world is alive and well.

Here are the clips of the race I did in the last couple of months in China. Not much footage of my bug but the Mini's were amazing too.

Actually it's a shame that not many people are interested to race their bugs in Hong Kong. The race I participated was actually a race for Mini's
only but I begged the organizer to let me join as there were no other bugs I could race against.
The circuit where I raced is in China. Each lap distance is 2.8km. The months I raced were almost the hottest time in the year. The oil shot up to
260F and the CHT was 400F. Sometimes I needed to slow down to avoid the CHT rising too high. The cooling of my bug is just the stock dog house plus an
external oil cooler mounted in the front.
I think Pratak in Thailand is more lucky. There are more people racing their bugs.

Did you have to any mod's to get those wheels and tyres under the guards?
And are the guards standard?
Your wheel/tyre-guard combo look tough, I love it!

Hi Pratak,
My bug and also some other classic cars from Hong Kong (total 15 to 16, I think) are on the way to Bangkok. I will go to Bangsaen on 10 Nov. Do you
know how many cars in total will race in the Euro Classic event? And what kind of cars? (I watched last year event in Youtube that there were many BMW
E30's).
See you soon!
