Hi
He did well, the cars looked like they were all evenly matched.
Does the car still have struts? You know I'm biased, I had to ask.

the cars in this class are fairly evenly matched . Horace used to be much quicker than the others 10 years ago , but now they have caught up to us and
it is about time we done some more enhancements to the engine . I de-tuned the engine about 3 years ago for Dave Hussey to drive , so that it would be
reliable for him . The 1640 engine has proved very reliable , however Horace had 3 roofs fitted in just 3 race meetings and Dave was not very good at
the wheel .
Now Ben is driving Horace and he is lacking the power to overtake around the outside . When I de-tuned the engine I bought the comp ratio from 12.8
down to 11.4 and fitted 40IDF webbers instead of the 45DRLA dellortos I used to run .
In the coming weeks we will take the engine from Horace , fit a new set of total seal rings , service the 42x38 heads and up the comp ratio to 12.8 .
On the Dyno this combination previously made 101bhp @ the wheels , whereas now it is a mild 93bhp 2 the wheels .
And yes Steve , Horace does still have struts and a WPVW modified quick-steer (2 turns loc-to-loc). Superbug LHF coil with 1.5 coil chop and oil
insert , RHF coil spring is a 78 Gemini rear spring and h/duty gas insert , LHR torsion bar is 71 superbug and h/duty oil shock , RHR torsion bar is
type-3 squareback and h/duty gas shock . LHR bump stop superbug and RHR bump stop kombi . Welded and gusseted rear trailing arms . No aftermarket
swaybars and Hoosier tyres ...handles and steers pretty damn good .
