Hi Guys i have got a racing seat with aluminium seat rails that looks pretty good and strong cheap from my neighours racing mate. I am about to see if it fits, fingers crossed. Question is should i include the ability to slide or not? Can i? is there class regs, i think i am aiming at 1600cc to 2000cc improved production. Cheers guys
make it slide much more adjustable
slide it; especially if your battery is in the stock location
if only you are going to drive it forget the slides- more weight and something else to break especially in a accident

Agree with most of above, but also add that rego requirements can come into it... here in Qld apparently seats have to slide if they did originally,
dunno what it would be in SA.
With seats in general for rego there's a requirement that both seat and mounts meets ADR, and if it's a dedicated race seat could be issues there...
most engineers won't sign off on it unless it's marked as ADR compliant, or you have a test report to say that it meets the spec.... just being FIA
spec doesn't mean squat for rego.
Finally race gear needs to be in date too, and at events good/thorough scrutineers will check for that on seats and harnesses. For FIA spec gear they
recently increased the life to 10 years from manufacture - it used to be 5 - basically a seat that's past expiry is worthless.
