2012 Racing Season.
colin - March 25th, 2012 at 01:03 PM

After racing at Huntley last year the motor was removed and given to Keith to again work some magic in the quest for more power and torque.
Both Keith and myself are always looking out for new idea,s and one night in around July 2011 Keith rang me and said "i,ve found a cam that i reckon will work well in your motor"
I asked him all about it and after a long discussion i agreed we should try it in our next rebuild.
"good because i,ve allready ordered it.
Fast forward to this year and after Keith,s work i though it time to get the engine looking as good and neat as possible.
As with most projects the simple engine clean up turned into a total redesign of the oil breathing system and repaint and detail.
I also dug out some old info when i had the car corner weighted at Bathurst and made some minor adjustments to the ride height. This will hopefully give the car a better balance.
I also took the car to work and spent some time giving it a 4 wheel alignment, this was very rewarding and after a few hours i now have the car exactly set for my driving style (and before anyone chimes in, yes thats to slow)
First event this year for me will be Kempsey Hillclimb at Cooperabung, with the earlier round at Bathurst being a wash out.

Cheers Col

I know first hand how a simple rebuild or re design can turn into a major re construction. I am looking forward to this reason and racing against you. Like always Col. It 1st class.

He absolutely loves being in the shed with me.
I can,t wait until he,s old enough to come racing with me maybe a few more years, he keeps asking me when he can race with daddy.
I,m just the custodian of the car until he,s old enough to race it himself.

Cheers Col
