when racing your beetle ,What sort of tyre pressure would you run in your tyres on a cold Wakefield track ????
say road tyres
semi slicks
and slicks

For road tyres Ian try 30psi front and 34psi rear.
For semi slicks try 24psi front and 28psi rear.
Slicks i,m not sure, these pressures are cold and will also depend on driver style and car setup, but thats a start.

I normally run my tyres as per VW;

Formula Vee Tyres (Semi-Slick? - not road legal) : 20 PSI front, 29 PSI rear
And when I ran the Michelin XZX's I ran the same or perhaps around 1.5 psi more or less.

It will depend on the car and it's set-up as I can't speak for a BJ/IRS car, but have a play,

On semi's I usually aim for 30-31 psi all round HOT... COLD pressures are just too difficult to be consistent with I've found.

But yeah - they're just a starting point and am usually checking and experimenting with pressures right throughout the day.

Sounds weird, but it's amazing how much just a 1psi change can affect both feel and times.

it even depends on the brand, model, tire size and wheel size. Plus the car setup.

Side's idea is a good start. measure them hot and then play with them. But around 26 to 34 for semi's is a good starting point.

on full slicks with my dark blue sports sedan , I would normally run 12psi front and 15psi rear . These tyre pressures are set with the tyre warm knowing the cold track conditions at Wakefield . If the day warms up I do adjust the tyre pressure to gain better grip
