Good stuff, well done.

Nice - great to see something different. What type of carb and were they hard to seal up under pressure ?

newghia - February 16th, 2013 at 06:21 PM

Cool, I hear there's another 1641 dual carb with boost entered as well :starhit:

hey doug i had a mate have a fiddle with the carbs and it has a rising rate reg so the pressure isnt at a constant 6-8 pound so fingers crossed i have had the same set up but single carb and that was fun as on 5 pound but so far so good lol

Looks neat, is that an intercooler or just a plenum?

Hahaha. Does this sound familiar??

oneup - February 17th, 2013 at 12:04 PM

hi superowen its an intercooler due to it being a daily driver plus i luv a flutter hahahaha

IWL_86 - February 17th, 2013 at 02:58 PM

Nice intercooler setup BTW. Is there a blow off valve fitted?

Turbo flutter isn't considered a healthy thing for the turbo impeller.

I'd consider a BOV for any turbo carb application.

Having said all that I can't wait to see you run next weekend

That's a neat little intercooler.... Shop sourced or home grown?... Are those Kadrons on there?... I know of a few peeps blowing through the stock solex with minor mods... The Kadron is basically the same sort go carb, so the principles should be similar.... Looking for to having a closer look.

all the fab work was done at home intercooler core was brought and than sheet end takes where folded and everything is welded together the only place where silicon pipe is used is on the carb to pipe onnection to minimise boost leak issues!
and IWL_86 im my last turbo bug i tried running a bov but i found it due to the short 1st gear it affected my launch due to loosing pressure so off it came.

IWL_86 - February 17th, 2013 at 07:24 PM

That shouldn't be an issue if the bov is installed correctly.
