I'm in with the buggy. Apparently there's some interest from the organisers in running VW classes if there's sufficient numbers from us.
I checked the weather forecast they say its gunna rain
next weekend
better call it off now
Just entered Flamin Tiki for sunday. Looking forward to some racing see you guys at the track
Should be there with bells on.
We'll have to see how the dyno goes.
But it's lookin good so far.
I realised last night my license expires tomorrow so ill have to try to organise that this week!!!!!
As long as you pay it you will be fine.
There should be an andra official at the track you can renew with. I'll call the track to tomorrow to confirm as I still need mine.
Owen andra licenses usually need to be sent away with a medical and photo to the Adelaide head office. I would Check with the track ASAP to find out if you require one for the weekend. This will depend on the bracket and times your running. If you express post the forms with an express post envelope inside you can sometimes get your license back inside a week. You can download the medical, log book and license applications on the andra website. Good luck mate see your out at the track.
Thanks, I only need a super street licence so no medical. Getting one on the day was no issue for the VW event (I did check this) so I imagine next weekend will be the same, but I'll call up and check anyway.
Dean Penrose is also entered for the super street class in his 2733ml type-4 turbo 69' beetle
Sorry guys. Im out bloody work has got in the way again
COrrect. If there are enough pre-75 VW entries they'll get their own bracket on Sunday. If not enough for a full bracket, then they'll be in the time brackets with the others.
Does that mean we will get to run Saturday and Sunday? How many is enough, 8?
Yeah we took the buggy up, started to rain after we unloaded, then cleared up so we got scrutineered etc. Took it down the back of the pits to warm it up and drop the clutch a couple of times. Was looking good so I started to suit up then the rain came again halfway through pulling my boots on and the organisers called it a day. Unless the weather changes dramatically we won't try tomorrow.
think we are still gunna give the roo shooter a run sunday if weather holds off.
Did anyone go.
What's the news
The Roo Shooter got a run at the best time of 14.2 on street radials, got to the semi finals in class B only to be pipped by a hundreth..sleep at the wheel with a reaction of .634.....had a great run with a 52 F100 rat rod truck...hope there are a few pictures as this would of looked good . cheers steve ..ps buggy was doing 12's but was a little off song I think...good show though.
Good to hear your early problems turned around Steve. Congrats mate. Yeah I was having an ordinary day problems with selecting 3 and 4th early on. My last run I attacked the start line a bit more than previously and broke traction as soon as I pulled second gear. The car hooked hard accross the track coming to rest against the wall in the wrong lane. Fortunately my opponent was able to steer around me. Car is fine just a small scuff on the front tyre from hitting the wall, driver escaped with a Bruised ego. Will give the car a good looking over to check everything is fine before we lay blame but we think it a problem with the spring being to stiff. Axles and tranny don't seem to be the problem.
wow...I didn't hear that you hit the wall.....good to hear you got away with that one......yeh we had the starter solenoid short out and blow our main power fuse after a burn out ...I too was bruised....pushing it off from the start line is not what you call encouraging. Did you think the track had a lot of traction ???? by the time I got back from the semi's you guy's had packed and gone.....we became noddy no friends fast.....not all that many out there on Sunday compared to past events .
Traction was patchy. You had to stay right in the groove. pretty sure A little more sun would have done wonders for the traction. Can't say it was the track fault I thought they did a great job considering the rain delays. Sorry for skipping town on you Steve nothing personal mate. Yeah numbers where way down but that because of the weather nothing else it's a great even that had great ore entries but very few showed up on the day. Hoping for better weather and car number next time lets try and get that Vw field going.
