Great to see a 10.85 so soon!
Apparently the car is a Chassis Shop tube frame and Geers 2457cc bullet.
Was racing in Sweden before being imported to NZ by Nigel at Platinum VW Spares.

Just read the thread on this car on the nz VW forum. They obviously haven't seen a car of this calibre before!! Makes you appreciate just how good the VW drag scene in Australia really is!!
There was a turbocharged tube framed Ghia here back in the 90's that ran a 9.9x , but really nothing between then and the car Platinum now have and
the car Im building. The scene here is tiny, anything with any promise ends up over there due to the tracks you have versus the NZ tracks.
The 10.85 was the first 1/4 mile meet. Another shot in two weeks time.
To give you an idea of the track, watch a bit of this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPD5MC5GbEE - as you can see it aint exactly flat !!
Some pretty wild looking cars there Adrian!
that track looked awesome in nz !
Would be good to see the car come over here for Warwick , yes it's a big ask , but with a few sponsers here and there it is possible
thats some pretty quick times on a less than ideal track.
crazy kiwis.....
Yes , there has be many crashes there ( be careful ) , the bit I don't understand is , the track has been like that for many years .
Crazy ! All so lots of bitching going on with in New Zealand drag racing at moment (IHRA coming in )
55slug ( name please ?) what are you building mate ( any pics ) , how far of from racing .
All so what is Nigel's last name thanks ? ( for drag car Number list ) , Allen Weirs is he the partner with Nigel in Platinum Vw Spares ?
Keep it up guys , Peter Page
Thats what happens when you build a drag strip on a swamp !! IHRA have done a lot as far as facilities go, and over this winter the flattening process
will begin... And yeah lots of bitching between IHRA and NZDRA sanctioned tracks/ racers. The scene as a whole is to small for all the bullshit.
Im Adrian Hill, build is here - http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=99832 - hopefully next summer will be running.
Nigel Scott. Alan Weir works for Nigel, and looks after the mechanics and driving duties.
That's wild...lane choice is king....stay away from right hand lane
Big Thank , Adrian ! Keep us up to date please . Another reason to head over to NZ , volkys drag racing .
The boys ran a 10.6x today, I didn't see the run but second run the pressure plate lunched
.
When I left they were on their way back with a new pressure plate.
In other news, check out the tow car on the FFR fueler, 56 twin turbo Chev that runs mid sevens....!
Damn! On both accounts...
Holy crap!
You guys run top fuel on that track ? Fffaaaarrrk.......
the TF and FC fields are as big as the VW field... 1 of each.... He has run a 5.22 this season, first season at it.
10.49 @ 126 is awesome!
Glad they got the clutch fixed in time for another run.
Very cool Vid the lads put together...
Cool
Runs nice and straight!!!
The one detail that strikes me as brillaint about this car is the naca vent in the door....
Car goes well too!
Hi Guys Do you mind a couple of Kiwis posting on this car. The drag racing scene for Vw,s in NZ is pretty pretty small, so we watch here with interest. Cheers Allan
Go for it!
I heard you the team ran some high 10.30's at nearly 130mph and a NZ record!!
Saw this on Speedhunters if you missed it

Yes we have had a bit of mixed fortunes this season. Probably shouldn,t have changed so much with the car over winter. But getting back onto it now. Ran a best time at the recent spring nationals of 10.38 @ 129.95 mph and I can feel the car has still got more in her. With the revo 6 clutch I can now really feed the car with the right amount of power to take off really fast without the usual big wheel stands. 60ft times have come down to a best of 1.380 and 1/8 to a nice 6.577, so overall pretty happy with whats going on. We don,t run again until the 11th of Jan so can,t wait till then. Cheers Allan
Ran at the recent 4 and Rotary nationals the other week end. Big meeting for the import scene over here. Even had some visiting Aussies to show us how its done. and it was great to see them run. Really put on a good show. We had a great weekend as well. We were running in sport compact with a fixed index of 9.60. Ran a PB in the first round of eliminations of 10.36. Ran the next round and knew during the run that everything was going great. Nice long and low wheel stand, Nice shift points and not much slippage at half track. (due to dust on the track) 10.15 @132mph.Bloody rapt. The only downer was not been able to back it up. Turned the car around really quickly and were willing to run the engine a bit hotter than usual and even got to the top of the staging lanes but the rain came down and that was the end of it.
Well done, nice numbers Allan!
Have you had a chance to weigh the car?
Havent weighed the car this season, But the car has got lighter and the driver has got heavier. Car and driver should be around the 650 to 660kg. Are
you going to get the calulator out Dave ?. Checked out the data of the last run and ran to 8520rpm in top gear. 60ft of 1.38 and 1/8 of 6.44. Going
to go hard for that 9. Heres a facebook link to our last run of the day and click the HD button
