Hope that fog burns off!

Still waiting to run, weather slowly drying out.
Rained out, Rod and myself will run tomorrow, don't think Ben can make it.
Booooo
Couple of pics from when the skies were blue.... 3 out of 4 events rained out this year so far! Time to invest in some wet weather tyres I think.
Or move to Perth where the sun is always shining.
I think it rained here once last year....
Sun is out up there today!!!!!!! And im about to go for a 6 hour drive in the wrong direction
Any updates on how Rod/Owen are going?

You have to pay to get the results Pete!! Stuff that I'll wait lol
No results for me, had a faulty msd rev limiter on my only pass, At least we know why the car ran like shit last meeting as well. No matter what chip was in it wouldn't pull past 6200, no chip and revved out sweet as. Unfortunately the motor then sucked the valve gaskets in repeatedly and after oiling the track in the burnout I decided we couldnt fix at the track. Rod didn't get any great passes, just minor issues and but got some useful data I think, I'll let him give details.
That's a shame guys. With data gathering it wasn't a total loss.
I know about sucking gaskets and oiling tracks too....
yep, swapping the rockers covers for some ones with tabs, problem solved. Such a minor problem to put the car on the trailer for. I cut an .028 light on my only pass so at least I'm improving I hope. Either that or i was just too slow to get a red light lol
Guy's , I ran the car last week @ the Syd Jamboree and it all went to shit . Leading up to the event I only had to start the car as it was prepped
for the washed out VW meet 4 weeks earlier . After we towed up and sat around for 4 hrs in the fog/drizzle/sun/drizzle , the day was posponed to the
following day .
The Sunday weather was all good with clear blue skies and hot sunshine . The first pass of the day endded up with the crank pulley falling off the
engine 100 ft into the run and not much data . The car did quite a good burnout with the extra power and the 60 ft was a 1.39 . This is the fastest
the car has gone to date .
The 2nd run was the final qualifing pass so I didn't want to waste a pass just trying to gatter some data , so I launched the car with a 1.37 in the
60 ft , a 5.77 @ 122.98 by 1/2 track and then the parachute deployed at 3/4 track giving me a 9.34 @ 112 mph at the end .
I have no idea why the chute came out , this is the first time this has ever happened to me so I need to address this issue . All data was good apart
fom the clutch settings . Clutch changes were made for the next run .
The next run was the first round of racing , I was paired up with a car that had dialed in an 8.3 , so I dialled in an 8.8 to give myself a small
headstart . I launched the car and according to the data I shifted into second gear 15/100 of a second after the car started to move . I cant remember
but I think I accidently touched the shift button . The car went 1.74 in the 60 ft , 6.23 @ 122 by 1/2 track and 9.51 @ 146.35 @ the end as I was on
and off the throttle as the guy beside me was a bit out of shape .
I am a bit dissapointed at my performance , the car is all good apart from some leaking pushrod tube seals and I and now looking through all of the
data .
I need to take a look at how I am doing things an perhaps change a few thing about myself to come to terms with the new car . I feel very comfortable
in the car when driving , however I still need to learn how to treat the car as it is so different to the last car . I would also like to thank Dave
Stoker for the 2 days and Mike Waldron for giving up his Sunday to help me out . I will now prep the car for a test day in 2 weeks time to see if I
can go a bit faster .
I am still learning the clutch as on the 2nd pass of the day the clutch slipped all the way down the track until the parachute came out . This is the
sort of thing I need to get more data on , so I can adjust it accordingly , ROD.
Some days are just not your days rod! Although 5.77 @ 122mph for the 1/8th is bloody impressive!
Good report Rod. I'm sure all the little bugs will be ironed out soon.
Good luck with the test day
Good report Rod.
sounds like just little teething problems that are easily solved.
For such a major project the results so far are very promising!
