Drag racing around Melbourne

Hi guys,

I always meant to be go along to a vw drag racing back in the UK but never got around to it before moving out here!

I was wondering whether there is a drag racing venue/event in the Melbourne area to pop along to and see some vw's going down the strip!!!

After the the Sydney rain out, a few of us vics were talking about a get together at Heathcote.
Its the only 1/4 mile drags in Vic, atm.
The next TNT I'm thinking is Sunday 21 st. July.
They run them every fortnight, theres one on this Sunday, 7th, but the weather looks no good. (couldn't handle 2 wet weekends in a row!)
We'll put the word out & your welcome to give us a call if you want,

The Gringos were going to give tomorrows TNT @ Heathcote a go, but unfortunately its been rained off.

Weather permitting, I'm looking at Marsh Rodders Drag Day, again @ Heathcote Saturday 3rd. August.
Gringo's are talking of going too.
Anyone else interested should reply to this post.

There will be for the first time in years an ANDRA drag meeting at Calder Park in October

19 October 2013 Calder Park, Melbourne
Top Fuel Round 10, Top Bike Round 7, Pro Stock Motorcycle Round 6

Clarly this is a limited card for the event but it will at least have the Top Fuelers giving bang for your buck so to speak.

And weirdly given the bike bias on the card, it clashes with the MotoGP at Phillip !!

It's official – ANDRA Championship Drag Racing is returning to Calder Park Raceway.

In front of a packed house of Victorian ANDRA club members, CEO Malcolm Bulley delivered the news that all racers and fans were hoping to hear, drag racing is back in Melbourne, the sporting capital of Australia.

I'm thinking of giving the race car a run at Calder on 22nd of November, it's a friday night street meet so will proberbly leave straight from work. I haven't raced at Calder park for years but I have been told the street meets are really good now.
