I sold my Pro Outlaw car to Stephen Hawes ( the guy who did the streaming Drag Nite video ) earlier this year and helped him setup his N/A engine in
the chassis. He has driven the car twice now. Last night my race partner John Toomey and I took him to the track for some test and tune passes , this
guy has TALENT !!! This was an incar video of him racing a Ford Mustang ( getting him used to racing against another car ) ,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfw7hbSfus0&feature=youtu.be
He cut an .05 light and smoked the V8 , ran a 7.46 . Hell I was so proud of him I felt like a proud papa. Had alot of fun, Mike McCarthy
Sweet
nice straight run
Way to go Stephen!
He is learning quickly , showed him what checks to make on the car between races and he now is doing his own valve adjustments and oil changes along with the other things he has learned. It has been reminding me of the way I used to be and his enthusiasm has been contagious . We fired my new car up yesterday , he may get a chance to drive the turbo car soon. Mike McCarthy
I have always reckoned that the only thing better than doing something that you love is sharing with someone else.
I completely agree Jeff , all I ever wanted to do was have fun and pass on what I learned so they wouldn't waste as many years as I did trying things , let alone the money. Mike McCarthy

Hey bother Dave,
The engine was purchased from Troy Sellers and was used in his wifes car. It is a 90.5 x 84 stroke , fk87 cam w/ Berg 1.4s , Superflow heads
and 48 IDA's , 1 3/4 headers . I have not torn it down so anything else I would tell you would be a guess . You are right Dave it does run good ,
hopefully before the next race we can tune it a little bit to get a little more out of it, we are only .03 faster than the class break. Mike McCarthy
