Lessons from club car, loose linkage = no power, also an organic issue, drivers right foot not big enough just yet ;)

h - October 6th, 2013 at 02:51 PM

Air cooled - Matt Berry vs Frosty.. oooohhh

rose - October 6th, 2013 at 06:51 PM

what a great weekend drag racing had improvements with each run. Still learning the msd 2 step for the first time ever.
First time I've done a burn out what fun is that. Heaps of room for improvement. Last run leaking oil out of the tappet gasket onto the exhaust.

rose - October 6th, 2013 at 06:52 PM

won a trophy for fastest female my best time of the weekend was a 8.6 at 80.86mph with a .260 reaction
there's always next time to get better time I love practicing

andrewmurphy - October 6th, 2013 at 06:58 PM

Best run to date:
RT - 0.074
60 foot - 1.472
1/8 - 6.841
MPH - 100.45

Big thanks to mark and peter kilby for crewing over the weekend.
I would also like to thank Michael Nash and crew with a few ideas bounced around.....

Also was great to catch up with everyone again and also meeting new ones.

Thanks also to Warwick track people and Craig Hughes and the countless people behind him.

See you all next year.....

20bkombi - October 6th, 2013 at 07:50 PM

Best time I managed in becs type 3 Auto wagon was a 7.35 @ 102mph
Not bad for a streeter with type1 cv's and running 225x 35x18 tyres, with about 20mm side wall :lol:
Thinking of heading out to willow bank soon as im keen to see the changes I made to the tune but didn't get to try because of the alternator issues today.

Nice sounding car man. Didn't get to see it but definitely heard it!

FROSTY - October 6th, 2013 at 09:21 PM

hey there,
Very happy with the outcome but it was a bit trying to get there, fuel pump, pressure regulator and a battery that died 10 mins before 1st round. Gave it everything for the final and was .022 off my dial in but Matt killed me in reaction time. Good work man (grudge match next year?)
Thanks everyone I had a blast..now to get the gravel out of the car.

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - October 6th, 2013 at 09:48 PM

Nothing caught gravel like Scott's Porsche powered splitty!! Major sweep out after each run lol!!! Considering he got it running At about 11-11:30am Saturday morning and drove straight to Warwick, unloaded the car and the first time he drove it was down the track and it went really nice and straight!! Engine hasn't run for roughly 10 years and has been sitting on a shelf all that time till this weekend. The only thing he did to the bus all weekend was adjusted rear tyre pressures and then adjust rear airbag pressures due to extra grip with tyres not having 30psi in them hahaha. Ran a best of 8.80@76mph with a best 60ft of 1.77. Not bad for a car built from scratch in just on 16 weeks!! A lot of little things will be finished or fixed then he wants a run over the qtr mile!! His aim is to have the car totally finished ready to race at Sydney in feb. a lot of people had their doubts you could do it Scotty but I knew you'd do it!! Even if it nearly killed you and ended divorce threats hahahahahaha

Dougzilla - October 6th, 2013 at 10:52 PM

Great to see VWs running so good down under! I'm glad everyone had a safe race. I look forward to watching more from the other side of the planet.
Doug

dangerous - October 7th, 2013 at 05:26 AM

WOW! What an event! Sorry I could not be there this year,
but thanks so much to the people who rang and texted their results!
When I got down off the mountain my phone was beeping for 5 minutes with all the awesome news!
:tu::tu::tu::tu::tu::tu:

Stanley - October 7th, 2013 at 07:23 AM

Did anyone happen to get a pic of me and Ben Robinson racing?

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - October 7th, 2013 at 07:54 AM

I was talking with Aaron Roberts about how the times to qualify for top 8 have dropped in the last few years!! A sub 8 was quick enough to make it now its a sub 7 to make the field!! Lots of fast cars just getting quicker and quicker!!

HappyDaze - October 7th, 2013 at 08:54 AM

Looks like a good time [and fast time] was had by all.....but there doesn't seem to be any corners on that track?

essex - October 7th, 2013 at 03:11 PM

I had 9 runs in total over the 2 days.
Apart from a puncture on Saturday afternoon, some shifter issues, the car ran great
Best run was on the Sunday against Ben Robinson, 7.134 @ 96.63mph, 1.434 60 foot, 0.150 reaction time,

Had a great weekend, worth the drive.

Thanks Craig, all the entrants & the Warwick track guys. Cheers

Just got back from Warwick last night, and after hitting two kangaroos and a very scary near miss with a emu, glad to make it back. Big thanks to Craig and the Warwick crew for a great weekend, also congrats to Matt Berry and Frosty for a well deserved air cooled final

IWL_86 - October 8th, 2013 at 08:46 AM

We had a great weekend of racing in the drag buggy with a best ET of 7.88 @88mph.

It was great to catch up with our friends and big thanks to the Bearded Man and the Caddy chariot for our safe journey!

See you all in Feb or earlier!
Isaac.
