Hi All
looking at diff opions for my buggy.
I'm looking at a Kombi box
I have read that a Quaife diff may tend to lock up too easy on a light buggy causing under steer on the road
Has anyone had experience with them in a light car.
Or should it be alright
Cheers
Rich
Hi Rich
There would be no problems at all with your Kombi gear boxed buggy pushing when installing a Quaife diff.
They are a torson style diff that will not lock under the most severe 'picking up of an inside rear wheel situations'.
Buy it and install one of the strongest diff centers ever made with confidence.
I do not represent Quaife in any way but have experienced all six of them in my gearboxes.
I use them in my Porsche Spyder replicas ( glorified buggies ) and hill climb beetle all weighing in around the 750kg mark with no lock ups at all.
I hope this helps.
Regards Rene'
I second what Rene' has said......I have raced with one for over a decade and love it.
You wont have any problems at all.
Thanks Guys
That news sounds positive
Cheers
I went through this a few years back and the lockrite diff was scratched off the list as one of these put a mates buggy off the road around a bend
nearly killing him, I think the lack of weight was the killer here.
to avoid any guesswork, time and money I went straight for one i could engage and disengage at any time.
this one is a no frills cable operated setup howver we have done a pneumatic one which is a lot more involved but still possible
diff lock in diff lock out
lots of fun
