He recently rebuilt a 2L baykombi that won top modified bus at the Sydney nats this year. It is awesome. Every piece of visible alloy on the engine is
polished like a mirror and the underside of the car is cleaner than the top. It was for sale, good value any way you looked at it.
His bro Brian is a body repair guy. He did some amazing rust repairs on my twin bros 67 splitty panel.
Brian said doing the sloper roof on that drag car was an absolute nightmare.:cussing
Oh, BTW, Peter told us that the drag car was blown and injected (mechanically) at the height of it's powers. Seems like it wasn't that different to
some of the competition cars we have today.

Any body remember Dave Butler from Qld?
His still about with Pro style oval these days, I think?
Back in the early 90's he ran a 1776 drag bug with the same Cabin Charger that PK use to run back in that 70's.
I think DB's old drag car was use to be owned by PK too at some point!
Just thought you might like to know....
All part of my research for the long awaited Ozzie VW racing history book I'm piecing together...May even get it written sometime in the next 10
years!
Hi
This is his bay at the nats, its really clean unit. Peters is a really nice guy and a true VW legend, I remember seeing him at Castlereagh. He built
a 1500 beetle hillclimb car using some parts from his drag car, this car was bought by Dave Butler.

That is a very tidy Bay. I'd love to meet with PK and any of the other old drag racing crowd from back then.
There was another bug around the same time as PK....Ever hear of a Bug called Yo, yo!?
It was quicker than PK sometimes...They seem to keep each other honest!
I have a mag with loads of stuff on these two legends....
Here is a photo from the era.
I bought his bay late September 2004 and PK is one hell of a nice bloke
