The Nostalgia race meeting was a big hit with over 140 entrants and a good healthy size crowd that could enjoy the fine weather and tough racing. Our day started off good with many rev heads checking Rods car out in the pits. As we were using the day as a test'n'tune we were just hoping to have a trouble free day,but the racing gods were cruel to us on the first run as we lost oil pressure in the pulling up area. Back in the pits we found that the oil pump had given up the job. Bit hard to diagnose at the track but it looks like the oil pump shaft is broken or the oil pick-up tube has got an air-leak. We'll have to pull the motor out for the second time in 2 weeks and strip the motor to zero to check all internals of engine. Thats what racing is about, hard work!
We still had a gas at the time as we ran an easy 12.93 at 103. We got into the enthusiasm of the meeting with some cool shirts we had made with the
American Bug-in events theme.

Hi
Regarding your oil pressue loss, check that the oil pump bolts go all the way into the case otherwise the pickup tube will suck air.

bugger I was next door at qld raceway that day. wondering what all the hotrods were doing there.
Found problem, a small piece of push rod tube stuck in oil relief valve . Holding relief ball bearing open doesn't let suction develop to pull up oil from sump. Next to strip motor to check for anymore bits or problems.
Nice ride dude, I like it alot... Very quick too :-D What spec motor are you running out back?
