[for a limited time only...]
I've processed a hundred or so shots from the VW Nationals Drags, still a couple of hundred to go... here's a sample. Watch for the next issue of
VWMA for coverage of the Nationals/Drag Combat.
Most of the images have been set for printing at up to 20"x30".
Enjoy, Matt
Trent Demos has given that awful 4 barrel the flick for some injection. He dropped the boost and switched off the NOS while tuning the chassis.
Peter McLeod in the WRX powered McCrae Spyder.
Dave Becker's '68 coming out for the first run of the day.
Wally Penboss.
Trent back out for his second run.
Mike Kristen warming the CBB Racing cars tyres.
Cranky One takes off, but breaks the crown wheel. Very sad not to see the twin supercharged 2.1 not repeat the sub 10s passes of its last outing.
Michael Waldron certainly gets some heat into the tyres of Dave Stoker's LMS Engineering turbo charged bug.
The cabin still full of tyre smoke when Michael boots it down the quarter for a low 10s pass.
Dave Becker out again. Unfortunately the flywheel decided it didn't want to be friends with the crank any longer. Dave will be dropping in a Scat
crank and will be tearing up the WSID again shortly.
Michael Said almost lifts the wheels on his bus.
Usually piloting the VVDS drag car, Wayne takes control of Peter McLeod's Speedster.
Dave Birchall takes the Orange Smoothie out on a liesurely cruise.
Macca Smith behind the wheel of the little brown bug which has been turning heads at WSID for several months now.
Peter and Wayne heads up in the Porsche's.
Wayne Penrose in the turbo 2.9 oval.
Trent out for another run, however like most of the big boys succumbs to a broken axle.
Trent gives me a close up look at the chassis of the C&V Performance car.
Michael Waldron back out again after some clutch issues. However one of the pots was to lean out later knocking it out of competition too.
Wayne into it again, lifting the wheels. This is going to be a seriously quick car.
John Wood's Mk4 Golf Barely looks like it's moving but doesn't fail to get up the mumbo.
Costa's Audi
The Cupid Wedding Cars were on the track all day.
Peter Leonard giving his car its first serious belting.
Hugh MacKinley's "split" bug.
Lisa Penrose follows Wayne for some fun in Mango Dream.
Sezer Solyali seemed to be on the track all day in his buggy.
Sam Wood almost makes the Mk3 Golf disappear in tyre smoke...
Stuart Morris in his ragtop transfers a bit of weight when the lights drop.
Sezer again. First time out, sure it won't be the last.
Wally replaces an axle to come back for the grudge racing.
Costa get some front wheel smoke out of the box.
Sam trying hard to have no tyres at the end of the meet.
Craig Hughes earns his pit crew credentials... or is he having a nap?
Wayne Penrose gives the oval a gutful for the final.
Sezer Solyali missed the start giving the win to Teri Pilaric from Cupid Wedding Cars in her oval.
The trophies go to Sezer, Teri, Daniel Norris and Wayne
...and we can't forget the Race Queens.
She didn't win... but should have!

So when are you gonna get to Sydney Reub?
Who knows Matt. Gotta finish the car first...plus you could imagine the expense to bring the car down to 'show it off' so to speak. Am guessing it'll be stuck up here in Darwin for a fair while yet.
True Reub... maybe we should do a 'supercruise' to the Top!
I'm up for it. Pretty sure the next supercruise is next year to alice. Would be cool to organise a group of vw's to decend on the town.....
Great shots Matt . . Would it be ok with you if I use the photo of Stuarts car in the next issue of Flat Four'm.
Thanks
Bill

I had heard that the younger brother got abit carried away with a burnout. Good to see the proof. Just wish you had some close-up of Dave's face
during it!
John
