speedster356 - August 29th, 2005 at 06:51 PM

I've had the spyder on the dyno for a tune at last after fitting the Microtech L10s and I'm looking at giving a few V8s a caining.
Anyone interested?

We did a 12.1 @ 116 mph on 191 HP.......what's the predictions for Wednesday night with 238HP?nn[ Edited on 7-9-2005 by speedster356 ]

Hi Pete

Will you need to get a liscence if you go into the 11s?

Steve

vw54 - August 30th, 2005 at 07:14 AM

11.75

speedster356 - August 30th, 2005 at 07:15 AM

vw54 - August 30th, 2005 at 07:29 AM

We will be there waving our Wands....
and have a screw driver at the ready

speedster356 - August 30th, 2005 at 08:55 AM

Ah Dave, you refering 2 the classic saying of " screwing a bit of tune into it"....:P
I've heard that before.........

1303Steve - August 30th, 2005 at 09:51 AM

Hi

There might be no subsitute for cubes, but there is also no subsitute for boost.

Pete,.......................And how did you go?

speedster356 - September 1st, 2005 at 08:12 PM

got out there at 5:00 to find an "event closed" sign on the gates...........I should have checked the WSID site late in the day. Due to high winds and threat of rain.

vw54 - September 2nd, 2005 at 08:17 AM

All washed out buggar

speedster356 - September 7th, 2005 at 12:26 PM

I'll try again tonight.....:thumb

speedster356 - September 7th, 2005 at 11:06 PM

OK, well I made it out there tonight....there was a cast of thousands out there. Plenty of spectators and probably the biggest crowd I've seen on a Wednesday night.
Did :
13.0s @ 114 MPH 2.2 60':sniffle:
13.0s @ 122 MPH 2.2 60':sniffle:
12.0s @ 123 MPH 2.1 60':)
11.6s @ 125 MPH 2.0 60':thumb
I set the shift light @ 6800 but it was still pulling strong past that.
Had a great night and looking to drop the time next meeting, looks like there might be some more in it with that MPH.:thumb

Craig Paton - September 8th, 2005 at 07:05 AM

Well done Pete! If you can get off the line a little harder,
there's a very low 11 in there!

I wasn't that far off on the time and speed either!:thumbnn[ Edited on 8-9-2005 by Craig Paton ]

dangerous - September 8th, 2005 at 05:47 PM

Good effort Pete!
What's in the tranny?
Did you have radials on?

Doug Sweetman - September 8th, 2005 at 05:50 PM

Exactly what I thought Craig !

From the way those times are falling I'd say more bum in seat time will yield results. Have you started fiddling with tyre pressures and suspension etc?

11.6 is bloody fast in anybody's books, so congratulations for breaking into the 11's !

pete wood - September 10th, 2005 at 04:18 PM

Are you gonna be there this coming wednesday? I'm finally gonna get there for once. :o

BTW, went out for the test and tune day today. Great time looking at stuff. I'll probably post a thread with my favs in it. No VWs but awesome just the same.

Took my 19month old daughter, she kept saying, "CAR CAR!!!!" :P

Hey Pete

According to my calculations, with the weight of your car and mph that you ran last time out, If you can get off the line would you believe that your car is capable of running...

a 10.6 @ 125mph! Of course this would only be obtained in an optimum situation. ie Slicks, good track, good air and a quick 60ft time.

Now what revs are you goin to leave the line at next time..? :grind:

speedster356 - September 10th, 2005 at 06:57 PM

Yikes!
1 set of 6" x 15" x 26" slicks
Tighten up the rear spring rate for less squat
Launch at 5000
exit one gearbox!!!:thumb
Dyno run today and it looks like the clutch is getting old at the top end and we dropped a few HP from the other day.
But still a lot to do on the AFRs...10.5 at peak power is mighty fat:alien

71superbug - September 15th, 2005 at 09:59 PM

hehe

Anthony:ninja:

speedster356 - September 15th, 2005 at 10:31 PM

I also noticed that the line would open up and the PAC cars would be let in front of everybody.....:vader
But then again no one was game to say anything, you know what I mean, all those marine corps hair cuts and all.... Fully.:P
