What sump is that? CB?
Is that as wide as the slim line?
Does it sit really low on a street bug?
Good looking motor.

Nice Work Pete!!
HOpe all you Volksie Guys have a blast on the weekend!!
Show the Fast 4 crowd that VW's aren't done with yet!
Ooooohhh motor porn again !!!!
I like, I like....
Looks great, your gonna be busy.
Just curious, what's a lock up flywheel? Or do you just mean tighten it up?
Man those CE pulleys are sexy - love em!
See you on Saturday Pete.
More pics Wednesday night work, piston & barrels on, new taper CB push rod tubes, berg duel taper push rods, clutch & disc on ( kennedy). Check gear box oil in both cars, clean bellhouseing on 61 blue car ,put battery in ,clean fuel system out. Chop top ,painted front disc's black ,put brakets and disc on . THE reason i 'm telling people about the work on the two cars is just to show how much work goes on behide the track time . IN the last three nights alone has been 21hours of work. I wouldn't do it ,if i didn't like drag racing & vw's. IF you think about it,that i have been into drag racing for 20years ,that's huge numbers of life and time ,effert and money. I wish i could get a pill for my illness !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!nn[ Editedon 14-9-2005 by Dak-A-Tak ]

Yes I dont think people realise the time and money that goes into a VW drag car.
The tranny alone in the chop-top is a 20hour investment and that doesn't include the parts and core transaxles!
I have only been into dragracing for 15 years Pete, and I'd like to thank you for all the enjoyment that you have given all of the Vee-Dub people and
for all your effort behind the scenes.
How many Aussie VW dragracers that have kept being envolved for that long with no break....I cant think of any.
I'm sure Pete will update how the new engine ran but first pass today at the jamboree saw Rod run a 12.8 (with about 10mins of run-in time since the build). I didn't see any other passes - hope it goes well tomorrow.
Rod improved to a 12.5 and then a 12.4@106.
Pete pealed off a 12.1@109 in the chop top.
Thanks Dangerous, the kind words are returned mate.I think it's in my blood, as i was taken to Surface drags when i was in nappies. I think there is something to be said about racing with in your means and family support (wife that das'nt winge or wants to change you ) I think we might take Rods car out soon in lighter mode befor we travel to sydney in November 27 (i think)next round of sports compact.nn[ Edited on 19-9-2005 by Dak-A-Tak ]nn[Edited on 19-9-2005 by Dak-A-Tak ]
