Is that a locally built offering?...A very nice looking bit of kit for sure!

shiftyvw - October 28th, 2005 at 06:26 PM

Ron Lummus Gear i think. Might have been put together locally i think.

HotRodMatt - October 28th, 2005 at 06:48 PM

Was with C&V originally now I think he has gone to City Performance?

BUS 23Q - October 29th, 2005 at 04:02 PM

yeh, car has been built by city performance. Crazy car ahh!!! Those guys do know what there on about. Car gets quicker every time. Think its getting a refresh as we write. This will be the quickest VW i belive.
Was thinking of taking my car there. Does anyone know how good they are?
Heard there booked for the next six months! Could that be possible?
Lets know!!!!

dangerous - October 29th, 2005 at 04:51 PM

I know that Larry Still did all the chassis assembly and welding
after the kit came in from Ron Lummus as a bunch of tubes.
I think after that Trent has had trouble finding the right person
to work on the car....but it turned out great!
Knowing how much I had invested in my car, and how I
did most of the work myself, I would say there is over 150G in
that car.
Yes, with the right crew on the job it will be very fast.
So far bests of 10.40's@140+ I believe.

humpty - October 29th, 2005 at 05:37 PM

This car is a very nice looking bit of kit.... What sort of driveline they running? We can not possibly have enough of these sort of Dubs at the track...IMHO. Can't wait for some of the other PRO style cars start making moves for the ranks....

Keep the flag flyin boys...All of VWOz is behind you!

shiftyvw - October 29th, 2005 at 11:12 PM

Did he end up converting to injection?

dangerous - October 30th, 2005 at 07:51 AM

Last I heard it was EFI on methanol and 2700cc Pauter and T1 tranny.

The car is at city performance getting a motec with traction control ,launch control and anti lag, with full data logging.

They do some amazing stuff.

Dak-A-Tak - November 8th, 2005 at 09:14 PM

This chassis started live as a Ron Lummus kit ( chrome-moly-64kgs) Larry Still did all the fine work putting it together. Scale it-make your own!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TRENT_DEMOS - November 8th, 2005 at 11:14 PM

Hi to all ...this is my first post on the forum...Rod Penrose mentioned that there was some discussion about my drag car on the weekend at the shoot-out ,so i thought that i better check it out.... so here i am.

I noticed that there is a bit of discussion as to who actually
built the car.
All the parts came from RLR and initial fabrication was by larry....the rest of the car planning fabrication and assembly was done by cv performance & city performance .

CV RACING sponsor the tune up and pit crew for the car and have been a great influence with the car....CITY PERFORMANCE CENTRE perform all fabrication and installation ....they are currrently fitting a mendeola transmission and the motec ecu,cdi and dash...

BOTH OF THESE BUSNISESS COME HIGHLY RECOMENDED
AS WELL AS RON LUMMUS RACING.....

Hope this information is informative and look forward to being a part of aussieveedubbers

some photos taken by MATTHEW SHERWOOD at 05 VW Nationals 10.45 and 145.7 mph first two passes

humpty - November 9th, 2005 at 12:23 AM

Welcome Trent....And more power to you for building such a fine car! You and Rod and Pete and Dave and all the others I haven't mentioned are an inspiration to all of us!

Keep on keeping the faith man...We love fast dubs at the track!

iox10x - November 9th, 2005 at 07:03 AM

Hi Trent

10.45 @145 is fantastic. Looks like from your speed the Et is going to come down a lot once the car is sorted. you should be able to do a low 9 . I cant wait to see the car at the track again.

jvl054 - November 9th, 2005 at 07:44 AM

Welcome Trent, nice work. You will deffently keep people watching:thumb...JVLRacing

iox10x - November 9th, 2005 at 12:23 PM

Went to city performance today.
Took a photo with my phone of trents mendeola installed .Sorry about the picture quality.

There was another blue vw with 2.2 l turbo injected street car in the making. Their work is only of the highest quality, a lot of race cars and drag cars.

iox10x - November 9th, 2005 at 12:25 PM
