hi all.. have any of you guys ever used adjustable sring plates for drag racing? want to put them in my bug but dont know if they are any good..
A must for drag racing, But the sway away type NOT the cheap ones or home made ones that you can buy locally.
I have never used adjustable spring plates.
But there is nothing wrong with the good quality ones.
For swingaxle, if it was me, I would choose a non-adjustable
one, but still SAW, because they are thicker.
Remember that this is only my preference, and there is
no real logic behind it.
I feel that for IRS with the diagonal arm,
that there is no need....I have only a single standard blade on mine.
Also, they can steal a little space inboard of the tyre.
There is the advantage of being able to adjust later,
but I always found the extra work of adjusting the
height no probs.
For me, I always spent any spare cash on making more power.
I know every one else has them, so would like to hear why.
That's cool Dave,
but on a swing axle car you can adjust the camber, giving the car more or less traction depending on the set up or on the track condition.
But the thick sway away is a must(saw)
With IRS what you say goes!
thanks a bunch guys very informative. i have swing axle. where can i get the good ones from??
