speedster356 - December 7th, 2005 at 08:11 PM

One word.......HOT!! managed to fry my clutch on the first run.
Couldn't shift into 2nd under load and ran 14s @115MPH after shifting it into 3rd from first......but all I could smell was that frying clutch.
Next week....:thumb

dangerous - December 7th, 2005 at 10:23 PM

HEL-70Y - December 8th, 2005 at 02:30 AM

boof2332 - December 9th, 2005 at 06:20 PM

When is the last meet before christmas???

shiftyvw - December 10th, 2005 at 01:11 PM

Dont know about street meets but why not enter the sport compact event on the 17th?

BTW whos coming out for a look on boxing day?

speedster356 - December 10th, 2005 at 08:53 PM

Are entries still open for the Sport Compact. I just found out tonight the Xmas party that I was ordered to go to on that day is now canceled....:thumb

boof2332 - December 10th, 2005 at 10:43 PM

Is that a Saturday??? I believe I am on the dyno that morning with Paul, I think it would be wrong not to go for a run. What is sport compact class? Are there still taking entries? I'm keen to see what the car runs....i wasted a worked rex the other night by 8 car lengths!

Matt

HotRodMatt - December 10th, 2005 at 10:54 PM

Entries closed on Friday.

Entered VWs as of Thursday
Macca Smith - All Motor
Dave Becker - All Motor
Mike Waldron (Dave Stoker's LMS car) - ET

speedster356 - December 12th, 2005 at 11:12 AM

Just had a look at the time slips from Wednesday and both my runs were 1.7s and 1.8s 60' times from my best of 2.2s 60' when I did 11.6 @ 125 MPH a while ago. So next week I'll try again with my new clutch. Looks like the LSD is doing it's job.....that's the diff I mean........I don't do that other LSD anymore........:P
Bugger missing the entry......

speedster356 - December 12th, 2005 at 11:37 AM

Just got an entry in for the 17th:thumb

dangerous - December 12th, 2005 at 06:11 PM

Just got an email to tell me that entries are still open.

HEL-70Y - December 13th, 2005 at 11:36 AM

speedster, see you tomorrow if i havnt forgotton anything.

speedster356 - January 24th, 2006 at 08:35 PM

Having another go tomorrow night WSID, last attempt with the new LSD in a spare box .. couldn't shift second under load for some reason. Had Tony Rigoli build my original box with the LSD and a Jim Berry clutch (well part of one anyhow!). So.....last time with the LSD I reduced my 60' to 1.7s from 2.2s (when I did a 11.6 @ 125 MPH)
so........this time? If I can put it all together:thumb

pete wood - January 25th, 2006 at 01:18 PM

This might seem silly but your selector fork is not bent? I had the same problem with my suby rally car after I rebuilt a new box. Kept jumping out of gear under load. Had a look and the 1st/2nd gear selector fork was bend a bees dick, about 2mm. Everyone gearbox person I asked/told about thought I was nuts, but I changed the fork and fixed the problem. Just a thought!

speedster356 - March 14th, 2006 at 06:10 PM

Back from the dyno this evening with the new 2.5 Subaru engine, can't get a figure as it just turns the tires when it comes on boost. Dom Rigoli says just to get a wide set of street tires for a better tune on the rollers. Only 220 at the rears, down from 240 with the old 2.0ltr. When I drove the car on the trailer I found most of my Yokohama AO32Rs on the passanger seat. So if weather permitting I'll get to WSID tomorrow night for a run.:thumb

speedster356 - July 13th, 2006 at 08:11 PM

Had a run last night with the WRX boys that had a complete lane. The track was very slick and the car was moving around a hell of a lot, quite unnerving really as I've never had that before. I suspect there was no track prep at all.
At first I thought it might be my new alignment (zero toe front, 3mm rear) but I had some high speeds at Eastern Creek Raceway the week before and the straight line handling was fine given I was + 20 MPH than on WSID.
My times were
12.02 @ 118 MPH 1.92 60'
11.98 @ 121 MPH 2.03 60'
12.57 @ 120 MPH 2.40 60'
But shite it was a cold night in an open car............
No VWs were there by the way, very sensible of them really.

Onya Pete, that thing is a rocket!
What was your best half track ET and MPH...for what we can expect for Warwick.

speedster356 - July 14th, 2006 at 12:01 PM

Best 1/2 track was a 7.92 @ 93 MPH.
The Spyder won't be up at Warrick isn't eligible to run.

Seems like every sanctioning body and government body around the world, wants the minority groups to be separated rather than included.
