New VW Aircooled drag racing website
californiakid - July 1st, 2006 at 04:23 AM

I hope this post is acceptable with everyone. I just came across your forum and was pleased to find VW drag racing in Australia.
I along with a partner have started a new website dedicated to all aircooled VW dragracing at http://www.acdrm.com  please come check us out and let us know what you think.

This site has the goal of having results/photos on VW Drag racing world wide so there is one place to come and check for in ormation and results.

We would need a photographer/writer in your region to be able to add your races to our list of coverage.

If anyone in Australia or New Zeland is willing to send photos with results and a small story after events please email me at 650hitter@comcast.net

Great to find you

Welcome Brian,
I have seen your site and it is always quick to get the latest news.
(It is a little slow to load up all those photos with dial up though!)
Thanks for shareing.

Thanks, Thats our real goal is to get results to you "real time" which means like real news next day.

Sorry about the dial up delays . We also are trying to provide top notch photography and that takes a little to down load.

Any help getting a correspondant in your area would be very appreciated.

!!

I agree with Dave...I also have visited before...great site with great pics
But on dial up it takes ages to load. A front page with an index to view the latest info would be great, but again great site.....

dangerous/Stanley,

Thanks for checking out the site! I will try and look at the dial-up issue to see what we can do.

Are there are any VW drag racing associations out there in Austrailia?

Hi Jason,
no VW specific Dragracing associations.
The reality is that there are less than 10 full time Drag cars running in the country, but we have alot of enthusiasm and a colourful history, that would make for some good articles.
This part of Aussieveedubbers is where most of the action is as far as VW dragracing over here.
We have a big VW only 1/8 mile event coming up on 30th Sep/1st Oct but otherwise we all mostly race at Import meetings and Normal ANDRA sanctioned Drag meets.
Will keep both you and Brian posted if I can. Otherwise keep coming back for a look here.
Regards DB.

Anyone wh couls take photos for us? Write a article or just facts and have us write and article?

Love to include you in our website. VW racers are what were about near or far,no matter how few!!

Thanks for the posative feedback

ANDRA- any VWs in the top 10 in points or hold records?

Stanley - July 1st, 2006 at 08:06 PM

Dave is currently the record holder in our All motor Class.

http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=52488&page=1#pid491622

There are also a few other guys running very well in various classes. As Dave said the VW drag racing scene here is small but growing. We have way too many Honda's and rotary's to deal with.

PS Check Dave's signature block...it says it all.

I changed it so only the last 20 articles are on the main page to try and help with the dial-up. To view older articles you have to visit the archives. Let me know if this helps at all? Thanks.

Thanks Jason...that's great.....appreciate the effort you've gone to.
Unfortunately the dial up is forced on me...too far from the exchange...yet I can see the lights of Brisbane...work that out.

Thanks again Jason
