c'mon Dave the suspense is killing me

dangerous - July 16th, 2006 at 07:48 PM

This had better work or I'll smash the freakin' computer.

dangerous - July 16th, 2006 at 07:59 PM

Nuh! Doesn't want me to show it to you!

dangerous - July 16th, 2006 at 08:12 PM

This was the second round of eliminations in super street when I ran my 1776cc blown engine.
I got to the final at this event and blew it with a red light and a 10.91@125mph break out on an 11.00 dial in.
That 1776 was a ripper!

Dave.... here's the tip on posting images....

Get yourself a photobucket.com account and upload your images there.... Once you have your images loaded, you can link them via a simple cut and paste of the url in the photobucket image gallery to you post here.... A benefit of this is the images can be loads larger and you can then post them on any forum linked to the same gallery!

Dasdubber - July 16th, 2006 at 09:45 PM

Normally under 50kB is the go, or otherwise a photobucket link will work as humpty refers to above.

dangerous - July 17th, 2006 at 06:46 AM

I just kept all those photos, in the story about my Pauter engine, under 100kb.
Must have got sick of all the space I have been using...hah!

dangerous - July 20th, 2006 at 09:46 PM

The last shot was at the same event but earlier in Qualifying I think.
I top qualified in super street with and 11.03 time.
With this engine combo I ran a best of 10.65 and 126.8mph in May 1995 at Eastern Creek, Sydney.
Car weighed 795 kg with me on board (1750lbs)

humpty - July 20th, 2006 at 10:37 PM

I only remember seeing this car run at the Nationals unfortunately, but one thing I do remember was the sound!... My god!..... But how does the car feel with the current combo, compared to the old supercharged engine?.... Like your 60 foot times, mid track speed etc.... Is this new engine EZR to get off the line, more torquey, was the supercharged deal fatter in the mid and topend?

dangerous - July 22nd, 2006 at 09:03 AM

The supercharged 1776 was easyer to drive and faster in the second half of the track.
That being said, the N/A engine is much more consistent.
With that mid 1.5s 60 foot normally matched up to a high ten at 125 or so.
In its final trim, the 1776 engine ran a best of 1.40 in the 60 foot, and 6.75@101 on the 1/8, on a 10.72 pass.
The timers at Eastern Creek in 1995, had no half track info for my best of 10.65.

I remember watching this car run, was great to watch and yeah it sounded awsome.
Just wondering, how much boost did you used to run?

dangerous - July 22nd, 2006 at 03:09 PM

had 28 psi boost and 7:1 comp with W130 engle cam.

dangerous - July 28th, 2006 at 06:39 AM

humpty - July 28th, 2006 at 02:08 PM

Man... I can't imagine what it feels like to get the wheels up like that!

nbturbo - July 28th, 2006 at 03:52 PM

Geezus Dave-that last ones awesome-reckon I would have shit my pants if I was the pilot.

Craig Paton - July 28th, 2006 at 05:43 PM

Hey Dave

Was this up north when you,Pete,Stew etc went up on invite?

dangerous - July 28th, 2006 at 07:03 PM

That photo was 9th of May 1992.
I had run at the VW nats in Sydney with my new spindle mount front wheels,
and when I went out to willowbank(better traction) in the month after, it did the massive
wheelie in first AND second gear.
On that run, it ran a 12.6@122.4 with a missed shift into 3rd (can you blame me getting distracted?!).
After this I used limiting straps to control the wheelies(which worked),
but I then suffered with traction issues, so the straps were removed, and wheely bars fitted.
What was scarey, was that I did NO burnout before that run!

Perhaps someone can tell me what I am doing wrong with this photo bucket thing.

Dasdubber - August 8th, 2006 at 08:16 PM

Dave, when you go into photobucket, under the image there are three boxes (URL, TAG and IMG)....click in the IMG box to highlight the text....then hold down CTRL and C at the same time to copy.....then back in AVD forum hold down CTRL and V to paste the text.

You basically did it right above, but you copied the URL file path....but you have to copy the IMG path (so [IMG] is in front of the image file name)....hope that makes sense, here is your pic:
