2443TT - August 2nd, 2006 at 09:18 PM

I'm chasing a few out of the ordinary engine parts... Is there anyone in australia that imports these bits?

1. CB Performance alloy engine case, 6 shuffle pinned version with 10mm head studs, full flow, and 84x94 clearenced.

2. 10mm raceware or ARP head studs

Cheers,

Give Rod Penrose a buzz - he seems to get heaps of awsome stuff sent over from the states at good prices and has helped me out quite a bit. I don't have his exact details on hand but he would be worth contacting. ( a quick search will bring them up - we all know who he is!!!)
Cheers

Ian
Have you tried dealing direct with CB yourself?

I get a shitload of bits for my racecar direct from the US and I have always had fantastic service.
Most of my parts have arrived within a working week of paying for them which can often be faster than from Oz.
Freight is a bit exxie but this can be offset by getting your stuff in one order. You might be able to find a couple of dudes interested ina group buy of some bits that will offset the cost of freight.

I have been "told" that CB can be a little difficult to deal with but then Im also "told" they are fantastic as well. I have not dealt with them myself tho.

Ive had nothing but friendly and efficient service so farwith the companies I have dealt with and Ive bought from quite a few different places over there.

Another suggestion I would make is SERRANO's,you can find him on THESAMBA,is VERY competative with everyone here in the states, carries CB,SCAT,EMPI,BUGPACK ect... I ahve seen alot of his prices be lower than ordering them directly. They are great about shipping parts out also,as you can tell,I use them alot when I can.Phone number in the States is 1 310 533 8273 Email is GSCCO@MSN.COM .Like Tass said, you guys might want to post on here and get together to make an order, save alot on shipping(possibly on price if order is big enough)Hope this helps

Ian,

A friend of mine here in NZ is selling his CB case. It has a 3.5mm deck is new and unused. It also has oiling grooves cut into the lifter bores, he has measured it and it is right on the money. For the record the first case he had had a few issues, and CB werent exactly forthcoming in their fixing of the issues, although it did happen eventually. I think he wants 1400 NZ$ for it.

I ordered my RaceWare studs direct.
The CB stuff can be a hassle cause they only use freight companies, and NOT US Airmail.
Craig from Crankshaft Engineering has an order nearly ready to leave the US now,
from CB so ring him with your specs and you will save a lot in freight and customs clearance fees.

They get a better price than retail, so should be cheaper than getting it your self.

You will probably get Marianne from cb on the phone..although they take ages to respond to email. The problem with ups, is you get hit with customs clearance fees here if over $250. Other carriers dont worry about it. USPS, feddex etc. I had my case shipped to a mate, who ripped off any proof of goods, checked it was packed safely and resent it so I avoided inport tax.
