Can you guys give ma an idea as to the weight of a 1960 bug .

I think standard weight is 720kgs wt.
Mine is about 805Kg with Pauter, bus box and cage(with me).
Most of the cars can be lightened for racing. Lightest Pan car with a beam front that I know of here in Australia was 1430lbs with driver...650kg.

later models are around 880 kgs , there should be some indication of weight on the compliance plate.

I have a 1967 1300 glove box owners manual and it says 1638 lbs or 742 kgs.

interesting stuff

I have been striping just about every steel clip off the bug .I have even machined the rear horn bolts down & out .

Nothing gets put on the bug with out total thought of weight
