Anybody racing at the VW club of Vic Drag night on Feb 16?
vwfastback - January 18th, 2007 at 01:24 PM

I see that on the club web site it is advertised, but, not on this forum. Anybody from here going to race or watch?

Regards,

James C.

Wayne, I only wish that was my green car mate. Sole the pic off the Type 34 Web site. Probably the fastest t34 in the world 8.92 @ 150mph!!!

Here is a link to the article on the t34 web site
8 second t34

I will be running my street T34 with the 2.4 flat 6. Probably pass on the burn out tho. Hope to pull a 16 maybe. 160HP + Super Beetle Gearbox

Yes that's the one Nick!
Engine up front.

Will you be running again soon Dude?

Boostn - January 23rd, 2007 at 10:16 AM

Soon I hope,
Still heaps of work on.

BRUTUS - February 4th, 2007 at 08:56 AM

So apart from those VW Club members, who aren't on the forum, only Grey 57 & Brutus are going to run (& maybe bluetopless2?!).
How about you, vwfastback, will The Fastback be there? ANyone else? Doesn't sound like a lot of interest..
Brutus is booked in & will be there (if he gets there in one piece).

vwfastback - February 13th, 2007 at 09:45 PM

Been waiting for valves since December from the US of A. Still no sign of them, and I have an engine in pieces. I will be there to watch, and take photos, but no racing this time.

dangerous - February 14th, 2007 at 07:59 AM

What size valves do you need James?

slpdesign99 - February 14th, 2007 at 08:10 AM

Does anyone know how many VW will be there and how many racing?

I have been watching the thread eagerly. Hoping that ther will be a good turn out but dont want to make the trip from Geelong for 1 or 2 cars?

slpdesign99 - February 16th, 2007 at 09:28 AM

Come on guys do we have any offical Numbers cars yet ??

would really like to go but what to see VW run not V8's

vwfastback - February 16th, 2007 at 11:08 AM

Just had confirmation of two quickies will be on the track.

I will be there supporting.

BRUTUS - February 16th, 2007 at 11:44 AM

Sorry guy's - have had to cancel at last moment. The 'boss' has just got out of hospital after a two week malady & is not recovered enough.
This means i can't go even to spectate. Have informed Chris the Club organiser. He is expecting "a few" VW's however (not sure of exact number). If you go & run I hope you go well! My previous best time at Calder St drags was 17.27s in Brutus-I (a 1900cc type 3) many a year ago. I'll be looking with interest to see how you go tonight & hope Brutus can take you on next time!

Boostn - February 16th, 2007 at 07:33 PM

Grey 57 - February 16th, 2007 at 07:43 PM

major pi$$ed off. Was really looking forward to this:td:

vwfastback - February 16th, 2007 at 10:00 PM

Love the way they waited until we were inside before they cancelled the event. The Rain was gone, the heat was returning and the track drying.
They initially wanted to give us tickets to next week instead, but finally gave us a refund.

I so much prefer Heathcote.

greenman - February 17th, 2007 at 10:03 AM

Rather too many vdubs not enough cars with more than 4cylinders............
