the drags tonight 21st march were called off due to rain , the funny thing was there was no rain to be seen plenty of heavy cloud about so the pin got
pulled ..
so we will try again next wednesday the 28th march , try to arrive around 5pm , the entry to the strip is around the back of the track , not to hard
to find..
we all got there around 5pm today and i would say around 20 other people arrived to race there from the time we parked up ,we sat there for probably
1/2 hour or more.. my point is if next week is anything like this week the track should be fairly empty allowing for plenty of vdub action.
what you need
long pants
long shirt
helmet (if you dont have one dont worry there will be one you can borrow)
$45 to drive
and your current rego papers
although we didnt get to drive tonight we had around 10 cars there to play and all of us are going next week , the atmosphere was really good as
everyone was feeling the buzz , we had 8 or 9 buses and one beetle so it would be alot better with more people joining in , bring your bus, bug, frid,
t3, t4, t5, kg, whatever you want with a vw label air or water cooled.
come and enjoy yourself
cheers darren

As T2 said, after getting all psyched up for our first (for some of us) hit out at the drags it was very disappointing to be cancelled.
Well we can all look forward to next week now and hopefully a few more will be able to join us.
Reluctantly of course, we decided the best course of action since we were all together was to cruise to the local pub for dinner
Until next time, enjoy the pics of the potential entrants!!
hey scott the blue white and grey bay is that the v6 powered one??
I'm not 100% sure of the specs but I believe it goes hard with a nice front lift on takeoff!
We flew to Sydney once for a drag meet went to the track and it was cancelled due to rain funny thing is there were bright blue skys and not a cloud
to be seen to WSID
this wednesday ,, be there
or be square:P
Hmmm 36hp down the strip.... :thumb

i went out tonigh, great fun to be had for all.it was great to see all the kombi's runing up the strip .
they m little slow
oops .as i was about to say, they may have been a little slow, but at least they had the balls to get of there lounges and get out of there comfort
zones and be very ,very uncomfortable on the start line filled with nerves and anticipation awiating that little green light to say go!
it would have been great to see more out there.even if it was only for support.
Good on you guys!!
Nice one guys!!! It's all about having a bit of fun with your car after all!!!
it was so much fun
some of us are pretty slow and some are pretty quick
jeff ran a 15.6 in his v6 bay
66 nik ran 18.7 in his split panel with a 1835 engine
steve set the bench mark with a 17.6 with 1903 engine in his 67 11 window
we had a bettle there that ran 16.1 with a ill tuned motor has potential to run low 13s
i ran a 19.0 with my 1903 engine on my last run with roof racks toolbox and a heap of other crap in the back of the bus in my 65
warb got a 20.8 with his 1600
there are more times but i cant remember all of them it was a great time had by all and this is going to be a regular event , we are planning another

Can we settle on a new date for the next trip to WSID?
I suggest the 9th or 16th May. I'd like to be there and I can do those dates if we book them in soon.
