I am entered, as is Rod (RAZ34) in his '61.
I heard that Col (15.0, 1584cc), and Morgie Smith are coming,
but not sure.
Who else?
[ Edited on 31-3-2007 by dangerous ]
Im entered might be a bit slower this year as i think the clutch is finally on its way out(been in for 5 years) and the wrecker special box is getting noisy but thats not stoppining me going out and having fun
I'll be there on hand with my helping hands for whoever needs it. And to eat the Muffin Man's gourmet Muffins
I am all right to go.
Bearings checked OK and battery is charged.
Now to the kitchen to plan those muffins!
This is at willowbank right ? Never been there might have to have a ride down and check out the action !!! WHat time does it kick off ?
Yes, Willowbank Drag Strip is out past Amberly,
on the Cunningham Highway.
Best way to get there is via the Logan toll road.
It is about 120kmm to get there depending where on the Gold Coast you live.

Dangerous I hear that there is a no show from Online with the CRX??? I'm guessing there is one big smile on your dial!!!!(as you are putting the finishing touches on those muffins:thumb)
I am not exactly disappointed, but would have liked to see the car run again,
and have another look at its engineering.
The event this year is not and ANDRA Record event like it was last year.
You can set a Sport Compact Group record though.
I am just hoping to go a bit faster than my PB,
and with luck, a couple of rounds of racing so I can run the car in some good air at night.
i had a good look at it last year and the engineering involved is top notch!! To hear that thing corss the line under full power is undescribable. The guy was telling me it runs to just over 10 000 rpm!! By the sounds of it at the traps it's not far off.
Might see if I can come down with the camera!
What time does it finish? Got to play golf first!
im gonna be there, in a datsun 1600 wagon unfortunately(anone interested in buying one?).
But il definately hooting for the flat fours.

Only 2 more sleeps.....
The last time I went to the drags was 20 years ago, but am coming along this weekend to check out the dubs and no doubt learn heaps.. (Just checking-
are lace up ughs still the go- or do I wear the pull ons)
Peter
lol
Was good and bad stories for most of us last night.
Poor old Morgie had a Porsche 912 rod let go inside his case,
but Macca said they will be up and running before the Compak Attack
on May19th at WSID.
Col and Rod both got past first round and Rod ran some 12.20"s and over 112mph!
Col cracked a stunning 14.89@ 90mph...man that is one fast 1584cc n/a Volksy!!
I was very lucky and ran a best of 11.400 to win the final of "All Motor" and a new record of 11.400.
Thanks to the many Volksy people that came along to support us, and my crew for the day Andrew(Stanley), and Alan.
Also Damo, the Volksy dude with the red shirt & piercings (sorry I cant remember your name...Sam?), Brennden, Waco(sp?), Richie, and the drivers and
crews from the other teams who were there with encouragement through out the day.(sorry if I missed anyone).
It was a big night for me since my last win was in 1995(wow, back when the dinosoars roamed the earth!)

Got some pics to post up when I get a chance. Also big thumbs up to Col for his efforts yesterday and he wasn't the slowest car out there by a long
shot!! Wonder how fast you would have gone if you let us at you car to remove all that excess weight eh!!
Was a great day and the VW's have now won the first 2 rounds of Sport compact All motor. Let's keep it going now and not spoil a perfect record!!
