1641cc / 6.46 - 108mph ???????????
Dak-A-Tak - April 26th, 2007 at 11:39 PM

Thats correct ! Hyper Bug -1641cc motor - blow though Turbo set up ,t3/t4, webber 40mm ,Nitrous
Stock counter weighted crank ,stock rods ,mild bugpack cam , 044 heads ,1.25 rockers = 300hp .
This is one very simple set up ,just shows that little motors can go fast . Those 1/8 mile times rock . Our choptop at Warwick ran 7.67 at 88mph shifting at bit over 6000rpm.
Mike Kristen in cranky ran 6.20et at 110.84 mph( still fast)
Check it out !!!!!

what a shame its not a aussie built car

that's great. how much nitrous would he be running into it?

I guess the nitrous is the real key with that car too coz it would be acting as an intercooler as well as getting the big (for that motor) turbo into real boost territory. clever thinking really. it's a really creative way to make a little motor work hard without having to rev it to bits. :tu:

Fantastic..... love the turbo position / header too.....

What does mid 6 1/8th times work out to in terms of 1/4 ? 10's ?

Serious numbers at any rate. Wonder how much it weighs.

From what I read (cal look com video forum) it uses 4 gears in the 1/8th. No waste gate, no boost gauge. Cool machine !!

Heres the quote...

Yes it realy is a 1641cc. And that is my brother in the picture. My best with that motor set up is a 6.46 at 108mph at 1850pounds with me in the car last fall at the farmington race, I broke out on a 6.49 dial in, in the semies. A little about the motor= stock crank with counter weights, stock rods, mild bug pack turbo cam, 044 heads, stock rockers intill this year I went with some 1:25's, 40mm weber, and t3t4 turbo. Nitrous is two fogger tips with 024 nitrous and 018 fule, I dont know how much horse power that makes for me.
As far a how much boost I dont have a waste gate or a working gage, it make what it makes.
I have been runnig this motor 4 years and have not had any problems.

there is a blow off valve though. I saw it in one of the vids. the gearing would have to be very short to be using all 4 gears. maybe that's the secret with such a small motor. gotta love it anyway, the thought of a mental small capacity motor is somehow very attractive. like col's 1585 for instance.
