The VW club of Vic have hired the track for the day so it's all VW racing!
$40 to race
$10 for spectators
Booking with the club is a must to get the number up.
It does NOT matter how fast or slow your car is as long as it doesn't leak oil and you bring your helmet you can have some fun.

For the love of god can someone go there and video tape the hell out of the whole event.
I'd like to see a real all australian VW drag DVD. Pit footage, interviews with car owners, car wark arounds, and drag footage.
PLEEEEEZZZZE!
Be safe guys,
and above all have fun!
Any updates?
Mike Kristen has had an accident. He's okay which is the main thing. Lack of traction because of the cold was the cause.
Bugger....
The drivers at the Winternationals are experiencing the same thing this weekend. I was there last night, and cars were all over the track. Very scary and not much fun.

It was a fun day prior to the crash. It was great to see VW's lined up on the track and only the other "family" members racing too.
The weather was around 13 degrees, clear skies and very little breeze. Good for boosted cars.
The car seemed to be safe(kinda), but it had lost a wheel first.
Once on it's roof, it started to spin.
Still spinning
the day was great fun.. great to see so many people out for a run down the strip.
Glad Mike was ok after his crash.
Demo run from the jet car was also pretty good.
hope to see more people at the next one and be in it myself too.
And finally stops.
There was more to the day than just the crash.
And now I will leave it up to others photos.
Thanks for the photos!
Any times?

Very sorry and sad to here that!!!!!!!!!!!! Good guy that always pushes for the best !. Fantastic news that Mikes alright . God Bless !
Cold track is very hard to drive on but this week end at willowbank at the winternationals we had the same cold conditions .I think track temp was 14
to 16 deg but top fuel 4.67 et 309mph straight down the middle.
The unusual thing is many cars didn't have any problems
at all and many personal best times as well . Ben Bray topdoorslammer 6.09et ,Zappier 6.03et .
Pro stock 7.20's when sun was down ,very windy.
It gave me real respect for these guys !!!!!
ALSO Safety comes first (tech Inspections )
I really don't like all decisions that ANDRA makes but least Safety is world class .
Brutus got a best time of 15.528 s at 83.35 mph (134 kph), from 92mm x 75.5mm, with 40 DCN's, on 98 octane ULP, using 195/65 x 14" street tires.
60ft time 2.151s.
Had a good run against Brian's red 968 3L Porsche (15.1s, 90.9mph), a close run with Chris A. in a shared 'Altona-racer' (unknown engine, 15.9s,
84.3mph), 2 really great close runs against Richard's ~2100-2200cc? "Herbie" (15.1s, 87.7mph), and Justin's ~1680cc maroon/cream bug (19.5s,
67.4mph) -- these may be not their fastest times, but are all I can quote -- from the time-slips I got.
Many thanks to the VW Club organisers for a really great day (Chris, Stuart, Dean & no doubt many others) - hopefully not the last! Only dampener was
unfortunate acccident with Mike's "Cranky". Don't know exact numbers running, there were plenty of spectators. No doubt the best times will be
put up somewhere... won't they?
