hi guys could you please tell me what i would need to setup my baja 1200 with a small but good turbo ,but i want to do it old school without all the
intercoolers ,water injection and stuff ,,,,thanx ,,,,
no im not gonna put in a bigger engine ,so please dont suggest that
a turbo
a carb, I suggest you use a draw thru. I have had good success with an SU
an intake manifold to suit your turbo
a bigger oil pump and oil filter set up and a means for getting the turbo oil back into the case, maybe thru your rocker cover.
An exhaust manifold.
and plenty of research....get a copy of turbomania...good source for oldskool stuff...and plent of surfing (the net that is)
These are the basics but it's where you need to start.
buy a judson super charger of Ebay
there around $1500 for a full kit they come up from time to time
thanx guys, would a bigger oil pump off a 1600 ,1800 fit and work or should i get something else ,,what size su should i use ?

woops. you would be single port lol. but you get the idea
nick
why would you do something like that when you could do a similiar setup to kroozen63 baja,i thought you guys might help but ,,,,,,i guess not ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanx stanley for your help anyway
No the pumps are a different size
try the Judson set up its a bit of extra boost but the kits are getting expensive now days
The Twin carby set ups give better torque on the small engines
ooooh, meow!
Giving more of an idea and discussion of what you want will get you more discussion back.

1200 cranks are spindly flexy things.
The engine will require a good once over. If you are asking the oil pump question you will prob get better cheaper result by adding cubes.

up where i live around the new england there's a lot of hilly running and so the idea of a small turbo setup ,i know the bigger donk would be better but there's no challenge in that ,i just like the idea of setting up a small turbo to help push her up the hills and have a little fun ,if or when it blows up ill go the bigger donk then, but while its goin fine i thought ide give it a go ,if i can pick up a good second hand turbo and do all the rest of the work myself i cant see why i cant get away with spending less than $1000,ive got a well equiped workshop to use
