Hi,
I've been hunting for these videos and I finally found them.
We took my old daily driver that was powered by a stock 1600 and we bolted Greg Ward's spare 1916 steroid motor into it just to take to the old
Eastern Creek off-street drags when they ran up hill on the main straight of the racing circuit.
Greg said I should drive because it was my car. I said he should drive because it was his engine.
I borrowed a mate's video camera and here's how it looked.
Man it was fun.

Cool vid. The banger only just got the bug too.
Nice one CT - they were some pretty impressive skids! :thumb
nothing like a Vw doing a nice big skid!!!
Sweet, what sort of box were you running with the 1916?
That was fun, amazingly, a long time ago, all burnouts in 2nd gear, revs only limited by footwork to 7200rpm. Gotta love a standard crank, rods and
valvetrain :thumb actually, don't they blow up after 5500?
Oh yeah, standard G'box, and both engine and G'box are still going wonderfully after that. We drove it home....
Can't remember if that was before or after you had the engine for the hillclimb year (2001) CT?
There were a number of more runs than that, the last one against an FJ V8 wagon?
Anyway, oldschool, no linelock, just a dropped clutch and a foot on the brake....
Greg
