It is still pouring down here on the Gold Coast.
Looks clear our at Willowbank.
I'll bet the pits are the pits(boggy marsh)
300 entrants and a one day event? Not fun.
Somehow I dont like your chances..... still raining here at my house.
yes guys to answer your question jamboree is still on, rain or no rain. We did see you there dave, busy washing your car on this fine rainy day. Only veedub i saw running in the time that i was watching
the drags was the little yellow rotary powered buggy. What happened to the rest of the veedubs? still seems to have
attracted a good crowd even with the rain.
cheers jess and jace
Well there is still racing on tomorrow....if it is fine.
Our qualifying sessions were supposed to begin at 2pm...after the rain began.
There must be a 'one shot' qualifyer tomorrow morning.
Begins at 8am.
There will be 4 beetles running tomorrow.
There was the one rotary buggy(Andrew), and I saw a nice clean one in the show.
Looks like finy sunny weather today (at least on the coast).....for a change - forgot what blue sky looked like!
Good luck to any of those racing today.
Alan
Event was cancelled due to track moisture continually re-surfacing.
What a bummer.
I got a crap 12.07@114.8 (bog!)
Rod Richo ran a 12.55@110.5 which is a whopping top speed.
Poor Morgie came all the way up from Woolongong and got no runs.
He said he will come back for the re-run.
Don't know about drag racing but it sure was a booby fest
"Hooray For Boobies!"
some shots of the vw's that attended on Saturday.
There was 1 more, but sorry i missed taking a pic of it because we saw it as we were getting into the car to go home.

What was in the ugly red one with the intercooler?
Fake intercooler. in a modified clubsport type bumper.
I have just added the engine bay pic of it.
Thanks for the photos Jess,
next time don't be shy and come for a chat or say hello.
Volksy people are always welcome in our pits.

and non-volksy people to...some of them come away almost converted
So whats the date of the re-run anyone???(hopefully my house move and some renovations are done so I can attend)
Keep an eye on the sport compact website...can't see it being in the near future though.
How did the cars go
Mine felt good and despite a heavy hand on the two-step button the m.p.h. at half and full track were'nt bad.
12.554 @ 110.51 . Speed at 1/8th was 88.86 .
Rod .
It is now rescheduled for 13th of October.
Not sure yet if I can make it....but at least Warwick is safe!...we except for the horse thing...
