It was really great to see some VW racing again! It was even better to catch up with some old friends from a decade ago....Dave Butler,Craig
Brown,Peter Page, Rod Richardson,Matt Berry,Lex Cowley,Paul Spinsay etc.
Was some really good looking cars and some were bloody quick!
For me there was a few that really stood out ..Dave Butler ran like a pro and we liked the burnouts Dave!
Penrose boys put on a good show, that Rotary powered Bus sh**! Debasi 's Turbo Beetle impressive,Morgan's sweet Brown beetle. Wally ran quick and
consistant...don't think I've ever seen Wally run anything but! Saw Andrew's lil homemade Turbo cool!
Too many to mention!
I have taken around 100 odd photo's and a number of short video's that I'd be more than happy to email to anybody! Some are good but there is a
few shocker's and I'm not really a techy, so whoever wants them feel free to post wherever.

PS This inspired me to dust off my car:duh

Sounds great!
I'm up for some pics and vids... My email is reub@vwrx.net
Thanks dude :thumb
Hi Reub
Photo's sent.
Thanks for the kind words Craig.
Yes I think it would be great to see your car out again soon.
I just got in the door from the 3 hour drive home,
and still am smiling about the event.
My Favourite memory has got to be Aaron's Kombi,
and also his dad's first runs at the strip in his camper.
The big wheels-up launch in the first round and the near 100mph terminal speeds
from a 3400lb bus was outstanding!

I took over 400 pics......I think i got every car...:duh
Fantastic day with a lot of class VW's!!
Congrats to all who stepped up to the plate and took part.
Hope to join in next year in some form.
Thanks for the great pics....and thanks for sharing.
Cheers
Had a great trip home and was heaps faster than getting there LOL. Left Warwick at 5.55pm and got home to Bracken Ridge(north Brissy) at 8.02pm. All
done in the Hilux slug loaded with heaps of crap and staying with Rod, Pete and Troy towing cars home as well. Time for bed me thinks and ease the
pain of some sunburn.....
Was an awesome weekend even if we had issues with the Chop top fuel pressure regulator and with Rod smashing crown wheel and pinion we thinks on
saturday. Happy to then help others who needed it and watch Pete be merciless on the lil 1916!!! It didn't give up and ended up runnning into the
8's which was better than we thought!!
Bring on next year I say!!
Its amazing how much less fuel we used and how much quicker it was coming down the range on the way home!
Great weekend yet again - big thanks to the Warwick Drag Racing staff....and Craig and co. for the organisation of the weekend. I think the resurgence
in the VW drag scene was well evidenced by the competitors this weekend, as well as talk from many others who were inspired to get out there next
year.
My oval ran pretty slow but I had heaps of fun yet again and will hopefully be more competitive (and faster/quicker) next year when the turbo/efi is
in place!
Alan
Hey Craig.
I'd love some pics too(donmatboat@yahoo.com.au). Great to see everyone and run on the drag strip again. 2332cc assembly started on Tue ran 8.449 on
Sunday still with run in oil !!!!

Thanks everybody for making the effort to rock up and create another great Warwick event. The weekend high takes a month or two to wear off.
The VWMA '57 Rat Bug had its quickest pass ever on Saturday with a 8.460@81.23mph.
The reaction time was half decent too, with a .426 light. I could be getting the hang of this! Oh, and I got one up on the Vintage Black Bug.
Sweet!
Next year, though, I must remember to replace the original fuses.

Yesterday got the juices goin again!

Black car had N/A combo and a small back fire had some hearts racing.
They came out again later to thrash it some more.
Car has a great stance.
No turbo in sight.

I heard him leg came out.
Bring on next year !!! All plans didn't quite work out , yellow car stayed in shed (parts turned up 9.30 today ) ,Rod killed gearbox second run ,
1915cc in choptop went well but driver missed third gear . But event was fantastic still for myself and Rod .
Sat down and watched 2half hours of vid today ( super vid maker - Lisa ) and 83 pics that shows it all . We will be putting another Warwick vid
together for all tobuy !
Keep an eye open for a new website soon from Dak-A-Tak
