How fast etc, etc...

Not a air cooler but a VW all the same

I know I only had four run's before the inevidable occured.

Standard mk1 GTI. Drove there expecting a 15.9 - 16.1 @ 80-90mph

Best ET & mph on the same run. 15.86 @84.62

Nothing special, just wanted to get a baseline before adding new turbo'd motor & tran's.

Smashed diff rivet's through the bell housing. Drove 2.5 hour's there & ended up leaving it there.

Follow the oil slick road.

Managed to get a lift back to Melb. from a very helpful Vdubber, then caught the train home from Melb.

That's drag racing. Now time to build the good engine & trans

Tough "break" there mate. But that's racing I guess and the risk involved.

Yeh, I know to well of this problem. Isn't the first time it's happened to me.

I didn't really pay to much attention to what else was going on, as I was trying to sort out my delima.
But I did catch a young lady (I think in her dad's bug) cutting some awesome reaction time's & cracked into the 16's which a few people were very happy with.

Just as I was leaving one of the Vollkommen Art's customer's blue bug turned up. Didn't see it run though.

On the Sunday I went back to pick up the damaged good's & just as I was about to leave the Vollkommen Art boy's turned up in with their beastly bug. Very cool car.
It was nice to meet you bloke's too. Very approachable & friendly.

Didn't see it run though. How did you go Nick?

Sorry no good.

trying to get the car working better out of the hole..........

best et 11.5 @130 mph......way off the pace!

motha - October 15th, 2007 at 10:46 PM

Still nice going.

It might have bogged out of the hole, but it still would have pulled like a train to run 130 & felt good doing it! Nearly as good as your best mph.

But saying that, it's a catch 22. Your actually spending more time on the track to gain mph. Your still making good power though.

Love to see this in run in the future. When's your next meet?
