hi all ,it has been awhile since i have been online,i have been pretty busy making stuff,i will post pic's soon.
my question is for basic start up jet sizes i thought i might be able to save my self some time buy asking you guy's.
its a 2386-7cc what ever you prefer.
comp is only 11.5 to 1
cam is close to a fk89.
heads flowed around 200cfm
they were 48's now 51's.
does any one have anything similar .
i look forward to your info.

I'd probably start by calling one of the vw specialist who are doing this thing all the time.

The only suggestion I have is a rule of thumb.
Venturi X 4 is the main jet to start with and then tune it with the Air corrector.

If you go over to Cal look site and do a search you will find closer combos
and just remember that Sydney's altitude is pretty good so start safe.

go BIG to start with the mains better than cooking something

so with the 51s that rule of thumb would mean something around 200 for the mains ??? is that right
51mm is the butterfly size so the venturi would be smaller

The only guy I know with carbs that big are Rodney and Fabian.
Rodneys are Berg 58, but the rule remains the same.

Fabians has small 42 or 44 vents, and in this case I would go for a ...

44 x 4 = 176, so a 175 or 180 main.
with an F7 you could use a 175 or 180 air corrector too to start with,
Ind keep an eye on your mixtures up high.
65 or 70 idle and a 120 idle air.

it is super important to have your float levels right before hand
because this effects how your emulsion tube begins to work.

thanks dave and dave.
i did all my home work and came up with ruffly the same as the muffin man.

i can't put the carbies on yet ,stupid me didn't think that the cast manifolds would warp much with a little extra ali put back in.OH BOY WAS I WRONG.

should have heated them in the oven 150 C n did a bit at a time back n forth in the oven to stabilise the temps

might have had less distoration
