Hi Everyone,
VW Portland is proud to welcome on board Mick Motors as a sponsor of the event. Mick Motors is very keen to see both Portland and Warwick continue as
permanent calendar events on the OZ VW scene, and their support will go a long way to ensuring this.
For 2008, both VW Portland and Warwick will offer prize money and trophies for the winners in all categories of racing, an extra bonus for those
competing. Runner-up in each category will receive a trophy and free driver entry to the following event (ie Portland Runner-up receives free driver
entry to VW Warwick). As Portland and Warwick are combined for an overall series points winner, a separate cash prize and trophy will be awarded at
Warwick to this winner.
Driver and crew passes will be sent this week, along with additional information about the weekend. An event sticker will also be included, which I
would encourage competitors to attach to their vehicle. This year, drivers and crew will also be issued with an official VWMA lanyard with plastic
pocket to keep your weekend passes in. With everything happening at the track, the lanyards will be a welcome addition to help reduce the chances of
misplacing tickets.
The event t-shirt this year will be for both VW Portland and VW Warwick, with a graphic combining both events. An example of the graphic is attached
to this email. The shirts are only available at the track, with first sales reserved for drivers and crew.
Just under three weeks remain until pre-entry cut-off on the 15th February. Entry forms and/or online registration is available at http://www.vwma.net.au by clicking on the VW Portland link. The catering at Portland is
only available for drivers and those listed as crew on the entry form, so please include everyone that requires the Saturday night meal and Sunday
breakfast.
I hope the vehicle preparations are well underway, and I look forward to seeing as many racers and fans at the track over the weekend.
Cheers
