66deluxe - April 11th, 2008 at 06:54 AM

I don't think i can make it in the bug this year still hoping to have mine done for warwick, might have the 1911 type 4 notch there though. Either way just hanging out with you fine folk is enough for me and the sound of flat fours revving hard, always nice.

Mate even if you can't compete it's still a great day to come and hang out and have a chat and catch up with some Volksy folks.

And seeing and hearing some cars on the dyno is just a bonus!!

we have just secured a major sponsor for the event!!! More details soon...

Dak-A-Tak - June 21st, 2008 at 09:54 PM

Dyno Day is building up with a fine list of cars entering this year and with a few of us being drag racers at heart ,plus a test & tune on at Willowbank that night . A few of us are heading up that night with our cars . So I'm saying that all wecome to cruze up with us to look or have some fun on track with us .
This to could become a yearly part of dyno day event as well ? Again it dasn't matter how fast you are ,just good fun !
Cheers Peter P

Yeah Pete
You gotta say things like that, but do you really mean it?

I got some of my engine bits back yesterday.....cant wait.

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - June 23rd, 2008 at 06:33 AM

Last year apart from Dangerous' and Rod RIchardson's cars drawing a biggish crowd it was actually Alan's oval who attracted the most attention with it's ground shaking 20.1hp!! Sounded sweet too.....

matberry - June 23rd, 2008 at 08:33 AM

Hope I can make more than 20.1 !!

westi - June 23rd, 2008 at 08:41 AM

going fishing again mat.

matberry - June 23rd, 2008 at 08:48 AM

Havn't caught any for a while.
You should top 20.1 too, Westi

Just wondering how shiney I need to make mine to pull a crowd?

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - June 23rd, 2008 at 05:22 PM

that's the good thing about a dyno day is it doesn't have to be all bling bling to win something or be competitive.

Dasdubber - June 23rd, 2008 at 06:07 PM

I've upgraded from the 36hp engine from last year to a 40hp 1200....I need to replace the rear main seal before dyno day and give it a quick valve adjustment and oil change (may even clean out the carby)......so look out, I feel 25hp plus could be in order!!

Al

Hell my bus won't even have any glass in it so anything will look better than it even you Matt

Dak-A-Tak - June 29th, 2008 at 06:33 PM

Allan ,I'll bring some race fuel for your ? Check out the entry list ! Man . This event looks to be growing ,thanks everyone !

Dasdubber - June 29th, 2008 at 09:09 PM

Pete, maybe next year if I still have the 1200 I could throw some NOS on it and give it a gulp of C16 - see how much it can take and how much it will give! (on second thoughts I don't think Trevor would appreciate oil all over his dyno once it lets go)....

Dak-A-Tak - July 16th, 2008 at 10:29 AM

Bad News Guys ! Looks like the Test & Tune date has been dropped . Check out there wed site to-day and it's not listed . It's on there date flyers that you get off them . Have rang track but not answering yet . Sorry for this .
I will chase them up later on in the day.

Stanley - July 16th, 2008 at 12:41 PM

Might be due to the super car racing at Qld raceway.
The whole area can be a bit of a shit fight

Bug_racer1 - July 18th, 2008 at 10:08 AM

Pity its limited to 300hp ATW's otherwise I would have come up

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - July 18th, 2008 at 08:11 PM

What have you got with 300hp atw? Spill the beans .....

No probs at all Westi.
I heard from pete after you spoke with him so no wuckers.

It was a long day,
and Brennden and Pete,
and their families did a great job(even Nanna was there!).
As did Trevor and Craig, and the crew from "Custom Exhausts".

Lots of very interesting and impressive variety through the day.
I am sure Brennden will post up a list.

Unfortunately mine only topped out at a cold engine 212hp
before the clutch went south.

Impressive numbers from other cars included
Uncle Leo's twin turbo 2400cc trike
with 7 guys trying to weigh down wheel spin from only 4000 rpm,
BIX's 130+ from his 1995cc super bug,
Guy Harding's Golf pulling 291hp
and Daimo pell's 98.5 or so from his 1775cc daily!

There were many other decent 2300 engines making between 130 and 163,
and Pagey made a slight more power than Rod R
...probably less than the difference in losses thru the bus tranny!

Got keen and found my problem:

17 years is too long for this throw-out bearing!! DOH!!
