All systems are go!

The final driver entry list is 74! Quite impressive. The weather looks good, the final preparations are almost complete, and I did manage to get my engine back in (today)!

One last announcement - for all those concerned about good track commentary keeping them informed and up to date with the latest VW Warwick weekend goss and results, that has all been taken care of thanks to Dave Birchall volunteering to take the microphone!! Thanks Dave.

So, will many others be burning the midnight oil to get their cars done for Warwick like me?

I will start stripping down the oval tomorrow for a quick repaint (had a bit of leftover paint so thought I'd give it a quick lick). Rod has kindly loaned me his 1916 that was in the chop last year for me to use this time around...so that has to go in after the respray, fortunately nothing else major for the oval as everything else works (hopefully!).

Pending time I am going to try and put together something a little different that should give everyone a laugh if it gets finished in time....will be super low budget but time may be against me! If it doesn't get done I'll throw up some pics if I conceed defeat, but for now I'll be having a few late nights in the next three weeks!

yeah Al, me too as usual............either a new gearbox strapped to the 1776, along with Craigy bars, line locker and usual pre road trip maintainence or finish the hellVWrx fire damages,re-spray,find trailer and tow vehicle........can't wait!

i have one very dirty and neglected bus with no engine... yet. hopefully this weekend it will all be together and in the car. then check the brakes and start on the rest of the car......

Well the excitement is building rapidly for this event.

I am entered, and engine is back together with a little more compression.

Still building the 1/8 mile tranny....among other things.
Gearing is set to do 8540 at 100mph.

Here is my oval as of tonight - just started the prep for a quickie respray....luckily no major problems to fix and I will be just prepping the existing paint rather than going back to bare metal (will do that one day!). After paint i need to get Rod's 1916 in there....and try to finish another bug which we'll hopefully debut at Warwick if the planets and stars align for us (ie. if time doesn't beat us!). Lots of late nights ahead

I'll post the weekend before when I'm compiling the final list for the race director - saves doing it twice. Yesterdays count was 42 entries!

There is only one week left for entry to VW Warwick. This is also the mad rush week, so don't leave it too late if you intend on competing this year.

Entered today.....should be a good turn out.

What's the colour code?

I just need to replace an the front oil cooler, a cluch cable (just in case), a couple of oil lines the usual tappet adjustment and oil change.

A few months ago I had grand plans of IDAs, T-bars instead of bumpers and a bit of cal-look stuff but that flew out the window with the time.

I just entered my daily driver 1303, my sons going to be doing the driving, they asked for an elapsed time on the entry from, I said a solar eclipse, but them again a slow time is sometimes useful in bracket racing.
